For the record...Edwards served as Governor and served 8 years in prison for Racketeering.
Though arguably minor compared to the Edwards scandals of the 1980s and 1990s, the governor was embroiled in several ethics controversies during his first two terms in office. At the time, Edwards was remarkably candid about his questionable practices. When questioned about receiving illegal campaign contributions, he replied that "It was illegal for them to give, but not for me to receive."
Edwards was found guilty on seventeen of twenty-six counts, including racketeering, extortion, money laundering, mail fraud, and wire fraud;
Better yet, in one gubernatorial election Edwards faced off against David Duke, a former Grand Wizard of the KKK.
When a reporter asked Edwards what he needed to do to triumph over Duke, Edwards replied "stay alive".[citation needed] On election day, Edwards defeated Duke in a landslide, 61% to 39%, a margin of nearly 400,000 votes, in an election that saw record breaking turnout.
While notable that Duke was defeated soundly, it is also notable that 39% of Louisianans voted for a former Grand Wizard of the KKK.
So, if you want sling dirt about politics, we can do that. But I am pretty sure Louisianans don't want to compare politicians with Georgia.

Its actually mentioned about once a week on this forum....in fact you just did it yourself.
And Georgia is turning away data centers left and right because most people, for some inexplicable reason, don't want them in their backyard. They will fit right in with the abandoned oil field look of Louisiana....

Coming from that penal colony to a dumping ground of French folks who were ran off everywhere they showed up until they wound up somewhere no one else would stoop to living in then or now....and that former penal colony is now the empire state of the region while that low point drain is still nothing more than a low point drain....

Hell they will have to go to a payday loan storefront to get a loan....the state's credit rating is akin to a 580 FICO score compared to Georgia's being equivalent to a 850. Hell even a payday loan place would be hesitant to loan them anything....
