If there is a God, He will grant us Bama in the Dome. First team to defeat Bama twice in one season?

Hell. Yes. Bring those Gumps right over here...

Actually, now I'm starting to hope that they come out flat against the Right Reverend Nutt, get shocked in an upset, then get blown off the field by Arkansas and have to watch us win the NCG against someone else.

It's sad. I was against a rematch. I was going to pull for them the rest of the way. I was willing to accept that we would have to move on and play someone else, maybe in the Sugar Bowl.

Don't act like all the flaming and trolling and chest pounding the Alabama fans have put on for the past few months didn't earn them a week of shite talking. Man up and quit being a pussy about it.

We've already beaten two great teams. I don't give a damn if we play the school of the deaf and blind and win it all. If we make it that far.

Question: If LSU and Alabama were to rematch and Alabama won the game -- would you guys be okay with a best of three final game, played in Tiger Stadium for all the marbles?

ReauxlTide222
ReauxlTide222, I've read a few of your posts, and it seems you're a reasonable, passionate Tide fan who is trying to keep hope that your team can win a national title.

You can- if we (LSU) lose and you win the West. Sorry, there will be no rematches. I say that not because of any arrogance (although we did beat yall on your home field), or any fear (and yes, I readily admit your team is the one team I'd most fear/be worried about).

You said it yourself earlier- the polls will determine who plays us if we win out.

You aren't thinking clearly, you're thinking as a fan of your team, the Alabama Crimson Tide. You think you have an excellent team and will have given the unanimous #1 by far their best game, and that will separate you as 1st among equals; the best available 1 loss team standing.

Think with your head. Go to espn.com, or any other national site, and read the comments. Not just about your team or our game, but about anything SEC- teams that get ranked, the Streak, anything. One common theme seems to unite the Ohio St, USC, Texas, Boise etc fans- they hate that we have won 5 titles in a row as a conference. They hate you, and me, and now they will hate previously irrelevant A&M and Mizzou. Right below the hopes that their own team can win, there's a professed desire to see the SEC lose to somebody. They're ready for the rest of the nation to become relevant in college football again. That's basically the attitude of most college fans in the North, Midwest and West (which pretty much covers everything outside SEC territory).

Given that, do you honestly think they would give the SEC this year's BCS title on Selection Day? That's what a rematch will do. You better believe Oklahoma or Oregon will jump you, maybe both, in the final polls. Even Boise. Whatever it would take to keep the title game more than an all-SEC event.

Sorry, because you do have a good team. And I likely would want to hold out hope of a rematch too, if things were reversed. I just don't think most voters will sympathize.

Talking non-stop about a rematch, an interception that was called correctly, etc. Is not eating crow. Some of your fans are. Most aren't.

And to those good fans who are good sports Next year, maybe LSU will get the make-up call that has been in the works since the Patrick Peterson INT.

Thank you bmy!

Christ, you'd think they're suffering from amnesia.

They chose to show up here; take it like a man.

But please, for Christ, don't say your team lost it, and our team had nothing to do with that. You do, that is your swill arse. You are open game.

HEY GUMPS:

WE BEAT YOU. IN YOUR HOUSE> WE ARE BETTER. DEAL.

Hey dude, if you want to stop eating crow, how's about stop shoveling crow into your fricking mouth every chance you open it?

You lost. At home. As favorites. To a "lesser" team.

We are very average and poorly coached team with no talent, how do you explain having to take a team like to OT and only beating them by 3? If you can barely get by a team like us, how do you expect to beat an Oklahoma State, Stanford or even Boise?

If it makes you feel better to refer to things in general terms, I guess so.

It's not the shite talking, it's the utter retardation. If Alabama had won, I wouldn't be on here doing it. Feel free to look over my posts for the last month or two. I don't have shite to hide.

The bottom line is that LSU's fans are ruining it. You talk about manning up, but conveniently ignore the fact that you have to be a bigger man to rise above the bullshite.

Disappointing.

The team we pull for won. As a fan, it's our job and right to talk shite now. We have bragging rights for the next year. That's how it works. There's a significant amount of Bama posters who have resorted to trolling. And those are the ones catching heat. Nothing more and nothing less.

Not even close - 1992 Team was far better than this team, they wouldn't even rank in the top 50 of past Bama Defenses

Not denying any of that. It's not the shite talking. It's not the bragging or the right to do so.

It's the casual misrepresentation of the game that everyone fricking watched.

Crimson Mafia made a pretty decent point in talking about how LSU simply defeated an 'average' 'Bama squad. More LSU fans than most might be comfortable admitting are acting like they just rolled up a ho-hum 'Bama team. They don't talk in terms which respect the game, they treat it like it was a blowout; a sure thing from the beginning. It devalues what we all saw and detracts from the quality of LSU's win; a win they had to earn, kicking and screaming the whole way, all the way through the end of regulation.

It's not the words, it's the tone. The disdain. The disrespect.

Talk all the shite you want. Respond to every post with "9-6," brag about winning the game, but call a spade a spade. LSU didn't just waltz in there and stroll right back out with an easy win.

Purely in response to 'rematch' talk. Obviously, we beat you guys on your home field and the idea of a rematch is absolutely absurd. A neutral field game carrying more weight than a home field advantage for Alabama is flat out retarded at best.

LSU beat Alabama at home -- and you can poke around -- but the fans who said that 'the better team lost' got flamed. The guys who said good game to a better team did not get flamed.

Alabama earned every bit of disrespect with how they handled the loss. JMO. It's not just the 1% of Alabama fans that the guys on this forum represent.. this shite is everywhere in the south. Even your players talked shite. Richardson was an absolutely class act during the game and after the game.

Flamers get flamed.. that's just how it is. LSU fans talk because that's two in a row. Alabama fans talked when they won two in a row. It's football and it's more of a rivalry than most Alabama fans like to admit.
