Yes because the hired security contractor will allow clearly inebriated and stumbling patrons in at the gate....
You really think security is gonna turn away drunk fans at an LSU game? Bruh have you ever been to an LSU game?

Drinking beer once you are inside the stadium is not smart.

Think about piss trips vs. missing the game you went to see.

Wine or sipping is the way to go

I'm curious to see how it works out.

It's been a couple seasons since I made a game, and I'm actually dry now.

But the pattern USED to be: start drinking at least 6 hrs before the game, around 3/4 of a case per person at least. Enough to get pretty damn lit, so rolling into the stadium was a blast. Ziploc with at least a pint of whiskey or rum per person smuggled in, to be mixed with a big Coke to keep the buzz during the first half or so. By the end of the game, between the heat and the excitement of the game, you were usually pretty good by the end of the game, good enough to drive and go home/go out to the bars or tailgates for more.
If I just did the pregame drinking and in-game whiskey, and didn't restart afterwards (and this being a night game), I was in good shape to be able to make a Saints game the next morning, ready to get there and walk around drinking a bit (6 pack and/or a big Jack and Coke) around 10:30 onwards to noon. Maybe 4 to 6 stadium drafts during the Saints game. Hit the Balcony or Bulldog post-game, re-ignite the lingering buzz for Magazine St fun.

The heat and activity (walking around) tended to keep you from getting overdrunk and passing out, as long as it was majority beer. You'd keep phasing from quite lit to mildly buzzed. Nachos during the game was also a good move, something about the cheese and pile of jalepenos kept you awake. Post game fried shrimp also do the trick.

Mondays tended not to be very productive, but we all made it to class or work. And drank a lot of Cokes and water!

Back to the current situation, I see the beer in stadium to be a way to nurse that buzz along instead of smuggling liquor in, but it might not be enough to keep you cranked up- we were usually sober (enough, relatively) by the end of the Saints games.

So you would drink 22 beers and 11 shots of liquor before halftime?

You’re full of shite

You don't drink like we did, I guess.

LSU plays night games, so we're talking 7pm kickoff. Like I said, around 3/4 case of beer per person, starting around noon. Over 6 hrs, that's 3 beers an hour.
Used to do at least that much at Jazzfest too, over the course of a day.
Now, the liquor part- I don't know the exact shot measurements. I DO know- Ziploc 1 qt bags (not the off-brand, you don't want them busting), filled around half full (half a quart is a pint). We'd smuggle them in, and dump in a large coke. - Ok, I guess we'd divide up 1 bag to 2 people, so half pint or whatever amount we brought in.

Was it an excessive amount of ETOH, hell yes it was. That's why we drank before the Saints games the next day, it was hair of the dog, your buzz restarted. Usually wasn't until Wed-Thurs until you felt good again.
I quit doing that about a decade ago, but know a fair number of people who still grind the weekend like that.
