If you e grown up in Louisiana, you’ve been told since birth that your state is last in education, first in poverty, first in cancer, and just a cesspool of humanity.
Regardless of what any native would say, it takes a toil on your psyche after a while, so we rally around the one thing that makes us feel like Louisiana is competitive….LSU.
But I know for a fact that LSU is the one thing that a majority of people in this state rally behind. Sure, there are other colleges, but LSU is the flagship, and at the end of the day there’s really only so much jazz, food and hunting and fishing you can take pride in.
So as for your question…I can assure you that the Governor is only gaining support when he stands up to the SEC. Louisiana is as cultish of a state as you will find, and like any good cult, we tend to circle the wagons any time we feel attacked.
And like any good cult, most would rather die than submit.

I hope you believe me when I say this…as a native Louisianan and a LSU alum…I don’t care what Mr Sankey or the SEC says. I believe most LSU fans feel there’s a double standard at play here and it’s time to leave, even if it means destroying the football program.

As an alum of LSU, the athletic department is operating way too far in the red. Changes have to be made.
I can’t imagine why LSU would want to stay in a conference where they know for a fact the other member schools are actively seeking to expel them.
