Don't you get it? They LET us win. If they had been trying, it would have been different.

re: Bama fans will try to make this win seem more than what is was!!! LSU WAS IN SOFT COVERAGE!!! AND THAT IS NOT DEBATABLE!!! Any QB could have drove down the field as soft as we were playing, FACT!!! It doesn't take a genius to figure that shite out, when the entire 2nd half the Bama offense couldn't move 10 yds. Freaking idiots!!!
LSU tried to stop them. Alabama tried to score. Alabama won. That's not "more" than what happened; it's EXACTLY what happened, and your pussy excuses won't change it.

It was soft cover, stupid.

This is rich. Watch the replay dumbass. The only guy in soft coverage was the DB lined up on the WR to the wide side of the field. LSU had guys bunched up close to the line on the short side where Norwood did all the damage. Lsu fans are calling it "prevent" or "soft coverage" because it kills them to admit that they just got worked on the final drive. The tape doesn't lie though

Do you think LSU ran the same defense on the final drive that it had run the entire second half?

And there you have it, folks. From the gumps own mouth.

If the refs were to call holding by the book, the game would last seriously 6 hours and pretty much every play would have flags on it.
Alabama hasn't been penalized for hold against LSU since 2010. Alabama has 2 penalties against LSU in the last 2 games

I knew it would take less than a week for the Alabama fans to go from "fortunate to leave with a win" and "we got out played but thank god we won" to Alabama stomped that arse

this. and, no matter what the lsu defense ran, the coach called it and he is a small part of the team.

I was at the game, so I didn't get to see it on tv, but I thought the officials did a great job. I'm sure there were holding penalties that went uncalled, but it went both ways. Id much rather watch a game like that than one with every little nit picky thing called.
Clement had a pretty obvious hold in the 3rd quarter I believe that was not called so it definitely went both ways.
I don't agree with the OP though. We may not have been in a typical "prevent" defense, but we were playing soft. We have done it 3 games now and it is something that must be fixed.

this. It could have cost us the USC and A&M games as well.

I never said it wasn't holding. But it is a holding that is NEVER called and rightfully so. If it were called all the time LSU and every other team under the sun would get called every play for it.
And Alabama WAS called for holding Saturday night.
You are extremely butthurt and you even have fellow LSU fans trying to tell you to not be so butthurt.

What is the point of this thread? Who gives a frick? I certainly do not...move on turn the page focus on your next opponent.
Bama fans sure seem compelled to lash out at LSU for some reason. LSU is NOT your rival.
You seriously took the time to rewatch every play on the EPIC drive? lol

quote:Exactly, bama was in prevent, 3 down linemen and 8 in coverage. lsu played soft coveraqe giving receivers lots of room. It has been stated that dbs were within 3 yds of the catches made. That is soft cover.Let'em make the catch, just don't allow the big play.
we were in prevent, except it worked

It took you three days to realize this? Damn you are slow.

1st play: LSU was in cover 3
2nd play: LSU was in cover 2, but played man on Bama's top WR and slot receiver, the other half of the field was zone
3rd play: LSU finally blitzes off zone (looks to be cover 2)
None of these plays were what you call prevent defense. And every reception was to the same receiver and he was covered...there was an LSU player within 3 yards of him on every catch.
4th play: LSU played cover 2 man under
5th play: LSU is panicking and calls an all out blitz....YELDON TD
Not bad...

Bottom line...McCarron worked LSU defense that drive.
...and there it is. This is a FlukerFlakes thread after all.
