Yeah definitely was not cool where I was from either. If it happened, the dude would get made fun of quite a bit.

I don't know how talking about inappropriate dating taboos regarding age is off topic when discussing Jeremy Hill, since he was arrested for one. That said, my apologies to everyone for saying hello to BamaChick.

I don't know about Louisiana folk, but No, I didn't have any friends in 12th grade that were hooking up with 9th graders. It woulda been WTF? Huge difference in 18-19 year olds and 14 year olds. Not saying it never happened, but there is a reason for those laws.
Ya, seniors didn't date freshman at my school either. Could be a Louisiana thing though

Good deal - same email.
Yeah, but like I said "locker room beej" =/= "dating".
But 14 years old is YOUNG. My son is in 8th grade and most of them are 14 now.
The maturity gap between 14 and 18/19 is HUGE - the years between ages is relative to their actual age.
14 - 18 = huge maturity gap
21 - 25 = moderate maturity gap
32 - 36 = barely a diffference
50 - 54 = no gap at all

I am also of the opinion that if someone is on probation, they keep their nose clean and stay out of situations that might get them in trouble. He might have been in the wrong place at the wrong time, but no one held a gun to his head or forced him to make the choices he made when he was there. Even if he was provoked. It might be a raw deal, but that's why other people choose to stay away from bars with douchebags everywhere.

As crazy as it is, some of us are interested in news from other teams. I even looked up the LSU Scholarship terms so I could be more informed! Much more effort than most LSU fans seem to have made.

This is the second time that's been mentioned on this page, and it was like that for a while in a few of the towns near where I grew up, and in mine.
I honestly think that the change to putting 9th thru 12th graders together has not only accelerated the incident rate of seniors dating (or otherwise fraternizing with) freshmen, but also the proliferation of the attitude that it shouldn't be taboo.
Does that make sense to anyone else?
I'm not justifying anything, just trying to see what may have caused a shift in thinking.
Also, as I said earlier, people are sexually active at younger ages now than they used to be and a lot has to do with MTV's incentivizaton and commoditization of irresponsible behavior.

14 year old chicks these days look like they're 18. Its fricking weird. My mom teaches 10-14 year olds and tells me how some of the kids hit full-on puberty before they reach her age group.
Kind of off-topic, sorry.
WTF is in the food these days?

It's the increased estrogen in soy milk.

Ok then. The rest of us are going to wait and see what happens. Is that ok?

I don't think it was that kind of relationship.
And there's only 1 school, public or private, that I know of in the greater Baton Rouge area that has a separate school for freshman. And that, apparently, is because half of the freshmen failed one year.
