He’s referring to when scholarship limitations were put in place
Before that coaches like Bear Bryant could lockdown every talented kid in a state and give them a scholarship and then pick and choose which ones matured to put on the team, Darrell Royal was quite notorious for this according to those that were around back then.
It was an available advantage so I don’t think anybody could call it cheating, but once it got removed from the rules became a lot more difficult and talent got spread around more

Tell us more about what it’s like consistently losing to an inferior program. Lol

What’s Johnny Footballs record against LSU?

We had to play them 27 straight times in Baton Rouge (we also had two bowl games against them during this stretch) where we went 8-20-1. Not making excuses but there was a significant stretch where LSU refused to come to Kyle Field and it ended up skewing the overall total in their favor.
That's not entirely accurate.
Well, the number of times playing in BR is. The reason why is not. LSU didn't refuse to play in CS. LSU gave the A&M coaches a piece of the gate during those years.
Considering the condition we were in between 1945 and 1975 (serious, we were historically bad - like Kansas State, Columbia, Florida State and South Carolina bad), it was a sweet deal for the coach.

Since Joe Burrow stepped foot in Baton Rouge, the swamp kittens have a losing record to A&M. Two years of their greatest player ever, and they still have a losing record to daddy since his arrival.

What a loser mentality, but completely predictable for your fan base…thanks for reminding me what kind of perspective on life your fan base has…I’m sure you will want a trophy too no matter what happens this year…absolutely a loser fan base…I’ll save myself some texting energy and move on from this now
It's all they know baw

It happens wannabes get super fired up to play powerhouse teams, it sucks, but I’d much rather come home to loaded trophy case than have one that holds memorabilia cups from that one time you beat a good team

I don’t think anyone is saying that LSU hasn’t had awesome years where they shouldn’t be respected for their accomplishments. All that this post intended to point out was that this success coincided when you didn’t play at Kyle field most years. Your record at Kyle is awful. That was the point of this post.

texas a & m seem to think they are world beaters if they can beat LSU. I got news - you're going to have to beat alabama and georgia.

This isn’t news. We will have to beat them too of course. Who knows what happens. It will be a great opportunity to play either of them in post season play.
