2. The great thing about out DBs is that it allows us to add pressure with our LBs in interesting ways. I'm sure you will see a lot of run blitzing from our LBs or a nickle back.
How are you covering our TE and more notably -- our slot receiver? That's your actual matchup problems. Jameon and Bumphis gashed you pretty good from the slot the last two times we've played, and that was without nearly the threat of a bruising rushing attack that we'll have this year -- practically no threat at all in 2012...

So you are superior in one unit...What does that tell you is going to happen on Saturday night? Run along son.

In light of these issues, how do you intend to stop the Dak and Robinson run game, let alone the diamond read option, with your front seven?
Chavis will find a way; he always does. doesn't he? msu should know.

LSU fans, what are your thoughts on the defensive front issues in the 1st half of the Wisconsin game?

Young, inexperienced...we will see.
34-17 LSU

A balanced 468 yards(216 rush, 252 pass) is "stopping" it? And that wasn't as good of rushing, passing, or receiving team as we are this year.

I'm sure one of those guys State has up front probably had an LSU offer.
We will give you the annual beat down you deserve. Punishment for bringing toothless rednecks into our place with sissy arse noise makers.

LSU has 3 very good corners, in white, Robinson, and Collins, plus a 4th that's not exactly a scrub in Dwayne Thomas. Not to mention a FS that used to be a CB and projects as one in the NFL. Matching up with WRs isn't going to be a problem.
For the TE, I expect beckwith, who looked very good in coverage last week, along with lwon and Deion jones to be on him.

Well, I mean, Yeah.
If you had those same issues the next two weeks against Livingston Parrish High School and southeast JC then you would really be in for an arse beating.

When you look at State's D, that front 7 easily looks better than LSU's. MSU is certainly bigger and stronger. The thing that I can't fathom is how such an immensely talented D can give up 59 points to LSU. Inexperience? Missing a few key pieces?
Okay, fast forward one year and that group gives up 34 to UAB! Why is State's tremendously talented D giving up so much?
I suspect that MSU's defense is getting a bit over hyped here. Yes, they are talented, big and strong. So were guys like Barrin Simpson, Ashley Cooper, Pig Prather. Under Joe Lee Dunn, you would have thought those guys were locks for the NFL. But once they got evaluated, public perception turned out to be flawed. They were good players at the collegiate level. I suspect to discover the same on Saturday about some of MSU's local heros. The only question is which players deserve their hype and which are just reflecting the glow of the true stars.

It is indeed. It's not your secondary that will be tested.
It will allow us to bring a safety in the box to stop the run.

At which point you've only got 5 in the box to try to stop the run unless you bring up safeties leaving yourself open for a big play. Which is my point.
I have no doubt Chavis can take away what we "want" to do, but IMO we're good enough and match up well in both facets that he's going to have to sell out to do it, opening up the other options. He can take away our run game or he can stop Jameon and MoJo -- but he can't do both at the same time. The talent/experience gap you've had to do this to us in the past doesn't exist currently. If you haven't been able to take away the slot the past 2 years when we were less of a threat running -- what makes you think you can do it now?

LSU will proly put anywhere from 10-15 men in the box and beg dak attack to use his arm

The same can be said of LSU. If they go to an I-form with 3 wide like they did against Wisconsin that will leave only 5 in the box for state. I would take LSU's CBs with one safety over the top over states CBs with two over the top all day. If state goes with one safety on that situation it's game over.
ETA: it's going to be fun to see the offensive gameplans for this one.
