A&M has had a historically bad defense the past couple of years so im not quite sure where you get room to talk...just remember, Chavis's scheme only works when you have lock down corners and your talent on D just isnt there. Last year yall allowed 293 points to be scored against you. Even Vanderbilt's defense gave up less at 283. How much did LSU's D give up? 166...with a top 10 defense full of underclassmen. I think it's safe to say a&m wont out do us in that category.

Why would the board be awful? Before I jump to conclusions, Brandon Harris needs to start or none of this happens. I think we start 8-0 too but the auburn game will be huge and im just glad we get it at home. One thing's for sure, Les Miles isnt a strategic coach he's a motivator who rides on momentum. If this team starts out 8-0, I think they carry that momentum into Tuscaloosa and beat a bama team that will have a lot of changes at key positions. Having Arkansas at home will help too because they always play us tough. EIther way, I seriously doubt we drop the last 4, Miles has a 23-3 record after taking a loss.

Bro, yall didn't even crack the top 100 last year. Unless yall signed a 6 star recruit or something I dont see that changing.

Congratulations on being a top 10 defense again. Do you think LeSU will have a top 10 defense with Kevin Steele?

Not that you merit a serious answer but here goes: John Chavis is undoubtedly a great defensive coach. However, I found our defense lacked intensity at the line over the last few years and complacency had set it in a bit and we lost our attacking nature. I think that with the talent we have Kevin Steele will have no problem carrying on the tradition with the help of Ed Orgeron's fire and intensity. So I think we'll be fine without Chief and you'll be the better for having him, but suffering we're not. We'll see as the season kicks off and progresses...but we're still going to kick Aggie's arse as usual.

The transformation of Kevin Steele from being the nail in Les Miles' coffin to tGOAT in just a few months is fascinating. It's not just an LSU thing either, every fanbase does it when making a risky hire, but it really is interesting to see it go down in real time.

Total Offense
Through Games 01/12/2015

Rank
8 Mississippi St.
16 Auburn
17 Alabama
28 Georgia
30 Texas A&M
33 South Carolina
51 Ole Miss
54 La.-Lafayette
60 Arkansas
62 Louisiana Tech
77 LSU

So LSU has the #1 Defense in their state, #9 overall.
LSU has the #3 Offense in their state, #77 overall.

And LSU comes to the conclusion to let the guy go who runs the defense???

Then LSU hires Kevin Steele??? wtf

For years, LSU has been telling everybody, it's just not enough to have the players, you have to have great coaches that can "coach 'em up". Kevin Steele? lulz

Keep in mind they did not let him go whatsoever. He left that sinking ship for a school with better potential.

Remember the days when LSU fans didn't have to stoop this low? It seems like ages ago.

But can he coach defense, because that's their real weak spot. They're used to poor qb play, but now they have reject/cast away coaching at defense

Really? You think our defense will be ranked outside the top 100 next year? I would love to make that sig bet.
