David Dellucci is nothing to write home about for us, but these guys are horrendous. I imagine that y'all have a much better radio pair?

well the PBP for 1-3 and 7-9 innings is the same guy who does all sports, Jim Hawthorne. Has a great voice but he's getting old and needs to hang it up (he's already announced his retirement after next year). The color guy is the most knowledgeable college baseball guy I've heard, Charles Hanegriff. Dude is an encyclopedia. He's not the most exciting guy in the world, but in a sport like baseball I can appreciate a guy who knows his shite.

Agreed. I may turn this on mute and turn on the radio broadcast. I, unlike most Rebel fans, like David Kellum. Kessinger is a little aw shucks for me, but he's not awful.

Yeah, when LSU gets a single up the middle he "drilled it" and when Ole Miss does, it "barely gets through." These guys are horrendous. Leave it to ESPN to not give a frick who they put on an SEC baseball game. I would rather listen to that chick call the noon Big Ten football game.

rollins is just a CST transplant if that helps explains why he's so terrible

Rollins has earned his rep & is not loved by LSU fans either. However, what is the knock against Ben McDonald? His is one of the most knowledgeable college baseball announcers out there & explains the action in a way that is easy for everyone to follow. There is a good reason why ESPN chooses him, and has begged him for more air time, to announce the CWS in Omaha every yr.

Ben is really good & is very highly regarded in the business.
Does ESPN and Orioles stuff, as well.

I actually really enjoy Dellucci. The guy knows the players very well, and gives really quality insight regarding strategy, what the players are thinking in situations, etc...
He hasn't been doing it for very long and seems to be improving.

Ben is a country boy but extremely knowledgeable about the game, as you'd expect from a College BB HoF'er and former #1 overall pick in the Majors. For an LSU homer he's pretty damn objective and fair-minded.

Rollins and McDonald are usually terrible together. Rollins is so busy jock sniffing McDonald that it ruins the entire thing in such a way that it is different than the way he usually ruins a broadcast.
