re: LSU/Bama Rivalry?

LSU-Bama is not about hate. When we have a shot to drive a stake thru the Bama heart,coach has a brain fart.
Auburn-Bama is Hate. Look it up.

Sure, I think a good deal of us hate Bama, mostly because of Saban.

As I said in my earlier post, Ole Miss is the only team that the past three generations of Tigers have consistently hated.

The LSU hatred rankings, as I've experienced is:
1. Ole Miss
2. Tulane
3. Auburn
4. Tie- Arkansas(Relatively new rival)/Alabama(recently Bama)
5. Texas A&M. Going to rise up the list fast, if they become competitive in the SEC. A lot of older fans hated them, and this is going to be rekindled with us playing them every year, and them not playing Texas.

So it seems to me that from that thread that the barn is way up there.

It also seems that Arky wants to be LSU's rival, but LSU won't have that. Then there is Mizzou who wants LSU....

Extremely interesting responses, I was surprised at how many people said Bama as #1 rival and almost all that listed a top 3 had Bama in there.

However, I think the accurate response is, "we don't currently have a natural rival." at least not on the level of barner/bagger. Here are some of my favorites out of that thread from August:

This is a mixed bag. It depends on the fan being questioned. I agree that if the question is being asked, there is no natural rival such Bama/Auburn. My son and I have different opinions on this question. When I became an LSU fan before some of you were born, it was Ole Miss, however to be a rival, you must win more than they have. In my opinion Bama is the team that LSU can lose to and it will bother me until the next season. Not as much because of Saban as it is their fan base. I still say they are the most delusional fan base in college football.

We were born and told to hate auburn and Tennessee. And auburn and ut fans do the same regarding us. When this happens with y'all let me know, otherwise /thread.

As a child, if I was asked which team I hated more, if I ever answered Auburn, I was corrected and told it was Tennessee.

See! Exact same. I actually pull for Auburn when they play Tennessee. I think that says it all.
