Ok Gump rejects.. I’m done trolling. Let’s discuss the game.

On the last drive LSU was the beneficiary of some calls that could have gone either way. That said, Auburn got some too. PI should have been called in the endzone when Jefferson got mugged and the obvious fumble on the second drive that wasn’t reviewed.

The QBs: Burrow was nails on the last drive but we have to be more efficient. Below 50% isn’t good enough. Stidham is just an average QB. I don’t think he’s meant for the next level. He’s only really productive when Auburn starts playing with pace and keeping teams on their heels. I have no idea why Gus gets away from what his team does best against LSU.

Both DLs were really good against the run but neither put pressure on the QB as much as I thought. Credit to both OLs in the pass game.

Cole Tracy— what can you say? I thought Orgeron was insane for using a scholarship on a one year kicker but it’s already paid off.

I’ll give Orgeron some props which I haven’t done. Was not a huge fan of the hire. As far as Gus... I think he’s just another average coach in the league. Nothing more or less.

Refs are never perfect but if both sides get the same calls, then oh well.

On BS call was the 15yd unsportsmanlike on Devin White.

Stidham is so overrated.

He hit a couple good throws, but for the most part he is only effective when receivers are wide open. He’s a product of Gus’ system.

I said it before the game, and it’s still true now... Aranda fricking owns Gus. In 12 quarters the last 3 years, Auburn has scored touchdowns in three of them.

Stidham also had kerryon Johnson last year. That loss had a larger impact than anybody thought.

bullshite. Watch the replays. Both PI calls on the last drive were obvious infractions.

How very big of you.

I thought the refs called too many penalty’s on both teams, just let them play. That had nothing to do with the outcome of the game though. LSU just made more plays. Auburn made more mistakes and Gus was just Gus.

Agreed about Stidham. He shows flashes but doesn't sustain.

The PI calls and the non calls were frustrating, but in the end LSU made the plays and Auburn didn't.

I am one of the few Auburn fans that believes Stidham is good but not great. With our OL he needs to be great. I was surprised at how little pass rush we generated and IMO that is what won the game for LSU. Kudos to your OL.

Looking at the stats the 2 TO's were the difference, every statistical category was even except TO. We know it was a 7 point swing and based on the trajectory of the game and the drive the second one likely cost Auburn 3-7 points.

Was not very impressed with the Auburn defense. Was rather obvious that LSU had the better defense between the two teams.

Don’t forget the fumble recovery LSU had that the refs wouldn’t review after a timeout.

Yea. Unlike our OL I know the talent exist on D. Though our (supposed edge rusher doesn't play as much as I'd assume) TD Moultry. The DB's had a bad game, but in truth they were in great position more than once and got a call against them. Objectively you could say the same thing for LSU and those calls weren't made a time or two. I still don't think it was ref thing, but I prefer refs to be more consistent.

At the end of the day the D did enough to win the game. We gave up 15 points if you take away the gift field position to start the game. The O, what Gus supposedly is a genius at continues to be our issue. Since 2015 if we play a team with NFL DL we have almost no chance of scoring or sustaining drives consistently in the game. We will play a few teams now that have future insurance salesman and high school football coaches on their DL and things will look better...but LSU won't be the last DL we face that will send guys to the league.

I'd love to see a link to the footage that shows LSU coming up with that fumble. I'm not doubting it, but blurred vision had me believing that Auburn tossed the ball back to the refs.

That is exactly what happened. Ryan Davis stood up from the pile with the ball.

Gary D...is the reason the LSU fans believe they had the ball. He kept talking about it being a fumble when it didn't matter incomplete pass or fumble recovered by Auburn the ball was in the same spot with the same down and distance. Gary D is terrible.

That's such a stupid statement. Stidham isn't even a good fit for Gus' system. Do you understand anything about Gus' system? Apparently not.

There were calls that went in both teams’ favors. Unfortunately for Auburn, their agressive DBs cost them on that last drive. That being said, that was a classic LSU v. AU matchup. LSU comes out the gate and punches AU right in the mouth. Then AU’s defense gets some stops, gains momentum and AU runs the field for three touchdowns. Then LSU comes back with big defensive stops and makes some huge plays to give themselves a chance. LSU came out on top. I think LSU came out and showed everyone that they will not be slept on again. To have the offensive line play the way it did against AU’s front 7 was phenomenal. They were an absolute unit. But that doesn’t mean AU isn’t a great team. They could still have a great year. That defense is fantastic and they have some nast talent at RB and WR. I also thought Stidham was a very good QB. He just got beat. Hats off to both teams. What a show.

I thought Auburn's DL would mail us

Didn't happen. That was one of my bigger takeaways

I would have been happy with almost anyone not named Les Miles. Glad we didn't sell our souls to get Jimbo, and the great Tom Herman will eventually have to live up to the hype. And that may never come.

Good thing Alleva's search was not that extensive, otherwise the much better qualified than Coach O candidates like Willie Taggert or Larry Fedora might be our current hated coach.

Coach O

I'd say Gus' body of work is similar to Les Miles. He had 1 magical season, Les had 2, but 1 ended in disaster. Take those away and you just have slightly better than average coaches.
