he same scene we saw Saturday night in Tuscaloosa takes place in similar variations every week in Auburn, Baton Rouge, Oxford and Athens. Visiting fans make road trips in droves, because they can. Missouri, on the other hand, is an average 600-plus miles from the rest of the conference.

Mandel is crazy if he doesn't think SEC fans will make these trips. Mizzou is pretty close to St. Louis; aTm is pretty close to Houston. That gives opposing fanbases an interesting city to fly into before the game, and an easy drive for the game (similar to all the LSU fans who flew into Pittsburgh and drove to Morgantown this year).

A lot of SEC fans plan their year/budget/vacation around road trips. Flying to St. Louis, catching a Cardinals game, and then watching LSU beat on Mizzou sounds like a pretty solid weekend to me.

Yep Mandel is an idiot...the distances arent that far... he needs to start ripping the pac 12 in that case if he is going to complain about traveling...look at my post and add in the Arizona schools which are even farther and you have what Washington state+UW were doing every year before they had divisions
