Agreed
It was a hard hit and that's all.

by Tarpon08It wouldn't have changed a fricking thing which is why it's so fricking embarrassing to hear some of our retards act like it's why we lost the game. Bama whopped our front 7 and our center had the yips with low snaps and multiple false starts. The interception to set up the short field ended it. Simple as that.
Holy crap bro! I found a unicorn here! Glad we have someone who can talk good football and not whine! Cheers man!

I went back and watched it. My problem with that being called targeting is that Milroe lowers his head and shoulders, too. What is a defender supposed to do in that moment? Which is why I would much prefer to see the targeting penalty be removed entirely. Football is chaotic and violent. Make football physical again and go back to penalizing players for flagrant and intentional headshots, not incidental contact. And I’m not being hypocritical. The head contact on Daniels was also incidental.

It really is a grey area bc Turner's helmet did hit Daniels on the chin, but it obviously doesnt comport with the spirit of the rule. He made a great form tackle & was not intentionally trying to hit him in the head. I thought the roughing penalty was a good enough compromise by the refs.

And thanks for agreeing that you would argue it was targeting.

No penalty can right the wrong. But when those who supposed to enforce the rules are so obviously, flagrantly biased (by not calling targeting immediately, but also & ESPECIALLY BY NOT REVIEWING IT......it can tend to effect your will, desire, motivation to compete in a rigged game.
Its not must unsportsmanlike, it's criminal & at the core - evil. No longer a game or sport when the playing field is not level. It's Alabama who is the big loser of respect, dignity when everyone sees/knows precisely what is & has been irrefutably occurring for at least 2 decades. I don't remember the precise year but Bama's Football program should have, but barely escaped getting the "Death Penalty" by the NCAA. (fact, not opinion - research it)! Many Bama wins, seasons, titles hold a BIG * next to them.

Just for arguments sake - are you asking if teams in the lead should not be penalized because it “wouldn’t make a difference”?
I'm asking why a great football game has been reduced to one play.

Please, it's the entire conference and the majority of the country that feel that way. When everyone says it's been happening and continues to happen with the exception of the one's who are benefiting - whose really doing the coping?
It's a terrible look for the game of football to everyone but those who benefit from it. People are fed up with it.
Please [read like coming from a suburban wife], never did one of you hillbillies from Tennessee complain when it impacts your team favorably. For example, goes for for shoulders [good], lowers head [bad], helmet-to-helmet [really bad].
PS - even a back judge 25 yards away could have seen this.
Never even a flag. Go back to being what-ever school UT was before.

It was an illegal hit which injured a player. People are mad about that and want the offending player punished as per the regulation.
All other points made by either side are background noise.
Alabama fans’ argument at its core is “well, even if it was targeting, it didn’t affect the outcome.” This is why, used in conjunction with Alabama’s fan base, the term rational discussion is oxymoronic.
The real reason last Saturday night’s game turned out like it did is LSU simply beat itself. Except for that, despite pass interference calls not made against the Tide, the obvious targeting call not made, LSU would have won. We beat ourselves.

It's just a shame that the fans that make no excuses have to listen to LSU fans make excuses.

I remember this play. UT player should have been thrown out of the game.
