It’s a tough time in the US these days, with lots of uncertainty all around - even in college football, which, while not the more important thing in the world, is still a lot of fun.

In the face of that, I guess it’s understandable that every single conversation here seems to devolve into political finger pointing. I wish we could resist that temptation; a little more forbearance would go a long way. Those who support Trump could pull back a bit on their contempt for the other side’s courage; those who support Biden might ratchet back their smug superiority.

Anyway, I really look forward to the day that I can go to a football game (or message board) and have a conversation without knowing anybody’s politics - when the only socially acceptable reason for me to hate somebody I don’t know is because they pull for Ole Miss.

That’s all.

You can largely blame ESPN and it’s political agenda for ruining sports.

i like how you avoided politics in your non-politics sports thread.

furthermore, i don't sit down at a game and remember hearing who anyone voted for. must be a northern thing.
ive been to:

LSU
ALA
AUB
KEN
TENN
ATM
USCe
UNC
ECU
VT
UVA
DUKE
Wake
Miss State
Legion Field (yes 1985 iron bowl)

dont recall any politics in any venue that i can recall.

Well, I was just trying to point out that both sides are being less than charitable.

I was also mostly talking about the message boards. Nice list of venues. I’ve only been to about half of them.

I grew up in MS and live in GA, so, you’re a bit off on the Yankee smack. Nice try though. At least you didn’t accuse me of being from Florida.

One side is literally allowed to physically attack via their privilege while the other loses its job over its political beliefs.

Get a clue, son.
