He hasn't coached in college since 1989. It would be a horrible knee jerk hire that they would be making just to bring a "name" in instead of someone that would actually be a good fit.

Because he won a Super Bowl 12 years ago. Duh.

Mike Sherman thought flashing a Super Bowl ring to recruits was a major trump card too.

he also has 5 first place finishes in the NFL, How did Saban do? He you can win in the NFL then the college ranks should be like a cake walk. Until it is announced I will not and do not believe it. However there has been movement, with things getting leaked and stuff happening.

I think seeing him in action, he probably backs out.

Nope, just 3 BCS titles and a boatload of first round draft picks....which is exactly what a recruit would out out of their college years. And why do you keep saying "Superbowls"? He only had one...

Do you realize how different the two are?

You can buy talent in the NFL, in the NCAA, outside of the state of Alabama, you have to recruit and develop it. There is no part of the life of an NCAA football coach that should appeal to Gruden. Could you imagine him parking his ego long enough to stand in line at a kids house behind two other coaches to bestow all that is the University of Arkansas to his parents?

If you gave me the choice between John Gruden and Nick Saban then I would take Gruden all day. Saban can recruit no doubt but he could not and would not out recruit Gruden. Sorry, it would not happen. I am not saying we will or will not get Gruden but if we do then you can kiss Tennpenny BYE BYE... for real. He would turn his back on Bama faster than Bobby Petrino crashed his motorcycle.

I believe Strong would be the best coachfor the job. He has done a great job in Louisville but I heard an interview today and I don't believe he is going to leave Louisville anytime soon.

I wouldn't believe everything you hear a coach say on the radio. Strong was practically begging for the A&M job last year and was a serious candidate. Granted, he was a GA at A&M so maybe he won't leave Louisville for just any better job that opens up.

Having Superbowls doesn't mean shite when you're being a HC in the SEC. Winning in the NFL is different from winning in CFB.

Hawgalude only reports on known facts and I have not seen Daly so I do not know what is going on. This is on the following hogville posters, a fella by the name of duckman and THJ. I know nothing and if you ask me I do not think Gruden is the man. However, Petrino came because of Jerry Jones and Jeff Long and these two are on Gruden. I watched MNF and Gruden was jumping around happy as bozo the clown so who knows maybe he just felt awesome that some college school wants to make him the highest paid coach in all of the NCAA. I do not know but will not believe it until he is announced. All I do know is if he is not signed then several posters on hogville will be in suicide isolation forever.

This is the same guy who said the ink was dry on Gruden in April. Its amazing how eager people are to believe this that they will actually fall for the same thing from the same guy twice.
