Fans have followed the cowbell protocol really well since 2010. However that got obliterated Saturday, September 6th against Arizona State. I was there and we ignored the protocols that night.
But you need to look at this context.
1. It was Arizona State and their coach that brought it own themselves with their arrogance.
2. State fans have had little to cheer about since Coach Leach died. Almost three years of frustration busted out that night.
3. It was Arizona State and they are an out of conference opponent. So who really cares?
Going forward our fans will be fine and we will follow the guidelines much better against Tenner and the other SEC teams later in the season.
Last, how come nobody complains about the cowbells when we lose? But let us win a couple of games and the whiny Shug Jordan’s come out of the woodwork. Boy those cowbells sure did run well today, catch a lot of passes, even recovered a fumble and kicked a FG. Wow they are impressive!

Didn't Tennessee lose to Arkansas last season? Maybe that is the reason to put all stop this nonsense about losing to unranked team that kept them from getting a higher seed in the playoffs last year.
