You come across as more hopeful than prophetic. You could be right, we won't know for sure until be is gone. I like to believe, based upon the talent we are bringing in, the coaches that we have and the facility upgrades that we are putting in, we are building a consistent winning program. Time will tell but the facts seem to point that direction. Focusing on this season though, I think we are going to be a good team and I like what the future looks like.

This is all rational. Most of A&M's loudest fans on this site are not.

I'm simply saying that A&M and our fans can't win. When LSU fans start rooting for Bama and telling you how much you'll suck NEXT year when this year just started, it becomes clear that all reason has been dismissed in favor of hoping and praying that your worst nightmare doesn't come to fruition; That is, to hope that A&M isn't here to stay.

If that indeed were to come to fruition, everything you thought you knew, everything you predicted and everything you used to taunt us since we joined the conference was wrong...and that is something that apparently is tougher for your fanbase to handle than rooting for Bama. So here you all are, telling us how badly Bama will beat us and how much we'll suck when Manziel leaves.

Do I know we'll be good after Manziel leaves? No. I think our recruiting indicates we wont drop off the face of the earth, but I don't know that.

A&M could lose to a number of conference opponents, and A&M likely takes a major step backwards regardless of what happens this year.

Sure we could. We could also become a national power. Only A&M fans seem to be acknowledging that both are possibilities however.

This. For all the shite we get about being arrogant and blinded by recent success, the only people on this site acknowledging both possibilities are A&M fans. Everyone else just blindly assumes we'll suck after Manziel because...well, because.

My god you've got a persecution complex- I thought that was limited to LSU fans. But at least we have the hardware and history to expect consideration from the college football world.

Because you haven't PROVED ANYTHING yet except that you can finish 3rd in the west. Why is this so hard for you to understand? A lot to be excited about this year- I will give you that. It's the unfounded arrogance that turns many off- much like Arkansas of a few years ago.

Three true freshmen started, five players started in their first ever FBS game and we played nine true freshman on defense at some point.

And? LSU played 7 true freshmen against a ranked team with a pulse.

They assume we will suck after Manziel because we sucked before Manziel. They don't take into account that he wasn't the only thing that was new about last years team.

The problem is that you are defining arrogance in this case as a fanbase expecting a team to live up to their ranking. A&M is ranked #7 in the country, it is not arrogance for our fans to expect to compete for the SEC West Title. It's only arrogance to you because lowly A&M fans acting like we have a chance to win something in the SEC offends you.

True...and the first half of last night does not help your argument. I'm not saying there aren't possibilities- but a lot of you act as if you won the Championship last year.

TCU is a 8-5 type of team who still recruits at the level of CUSA and WAC teams. Rice, albeit a mid-major, is still going to win double digit games and likely their conference. It's not like A&M was playing Towson, which gave LSU fits last year.

Bench your starting FS, MLB, DT, DE and both starting corners against TCU and see what happens.

In the first half yesterday our offense didn't miss a beat, despite starting a guy who was only recruited so we could sign his elite brother. Our defense played double digit true freshmen.

You act as if something happened against Rice that logically reinforces your point. No such thing occurred.

We were down 9 starters most of last season due to suspension or injury but nobody cut us any slack.

Oh and we still beat you.

You are a true idiot. This is even more delusional than you trying to say that the majority of Louisiana recruits are out of state transfers.

TCU has the best defense in the Big 12. Something your aggies couldn't accomplish this past decade. Last season they started a true freshman at QB, who they recruited to play runningback. The Big 12 media voted them the 3rd best team in the Big 12 this season and the potential conference champs. Yet you're trying to act like Rice is better.

By far the stupidest poster on the SEC board.

Your unfounded arrogance when A&M is obviously a "one-man" team. Manziel is A&M, even moreso than Sumlin. He is one of the most dynamic, talented players in a long time- and when he's gone after this year(assuming he makes it through it) you'll go back to being what you really are- A mediocre team where the most dynamic and blustering man on the squad is the the 12th one.
