Its like saying that Chris Petersen is a good coach. No, he is not. I am not sure what conference they are in nowadays, but when they were in their historic peasant conference, they were the only big boys on the block. They beat up on creampuffs everyday.

So you're comparing Boise State and Conference USA to LSU and the SEC? Brilliant!

quote:

LSU has always relied on defense because their offense has never been worth a damn. Les Miles really needs to thank whoever your DC is.

Our offense was good to great from 05-07, hell, the offense wasn't the problem in 08. And we had a very efficient offense in 2011.

quote:

Miles has relied on elite defenders this whole time and there was a mass exodus to the League after last season.

You hear that, guys? Mass exodus. We're screwed.

In whatever alternate universe that one class is the difference between SEC contender and Independence Bowl.

Do you even football, bro?

This cannot be understated. That's a huge recruiting footprint. Now, a Houston kid can stay an hour and a half away from home and play SEC ball. Before, the closest he could get was LSU.

And down phase is a relative term. Hell, at LSU we lose 3 games by single scores and we're told we're in a down phase.

Les Miles is 4-2 against A&M as a head coach, and 4-4 overall.

My point is: good luck. Teams that throw the ball around in this league will have field days.

Ok! I hope you really believe this......

Its really not hard to understand why A&M should be a solid, if not elite, program for years to come. When we moved to the SEC (and the prestige that comes with that) we picked up ALOT of recruits that may have otherwise chosen UT or OU (they received more primetime games in the Big 12 before last season) Our recruiting class jumped dramatically last year and there is no indication of that fading. The fact that Texas kids can stay in Texas to play football and be in the SEC (spotlight) is the reason I believe we have started a program that should not go through "down phases" any longer. I know its hard for you LSU and Bama fans to admit but we are here and we are here to compete, not just this year but for years to come, and i must admit it is because of the prestige that the SEC has that our recruiting has skyrocketed the way it did.

You're right. And if you can have sustained success you'll earn the respect and deserve it. But I've seen all too often a team perform very well for one year and then drop back off.

Kentucky had a pretty darn good team in 2007. I think the recruiting will be the difference that gives A&M an edge. I'm just not willing to crown you an elite program after one 10-2 regular season and a 3rd place SECW finish.

My lord. We heard this same song and dance all last year before the season started. Honestly, how long have you Aggies been saying this crap? Is this in the Aggie school creed? Did yall say this when yall were in the Big 12? Look at our potential, fan base, stadium, boosters, and blahhh blahhh blaahhh. Same old crap.

Let's look at Rivals.com

2013 recruiting classes:

1. Bama
4. Florida
6. LSU
7. Ole Miss
8. Auburn
11. Texas A&M

You guys had the fifth best recruiting class in the SEC and you are beating yourselfs on the chest over this??? Really?

Texas A&M 2012 class= 15
Texas A&M 2013 class= 11

Not that big of a jump since yall moved to the SEC. Did improve. I guess that's good.

How are you going to count time when he wasn't a HC as part of his record? Did you stretch before you reached that far? Wouldn't want you to strain a muscle.

Me neither. Frankly, I couldn't give fewer fricks about whether A&M is considered elite. I want multiple NCs starting NOW. frick all else.

I mean he was still a coordinator. Two losses as an OC sort of speaks to the offensive woes LSU has gone through throughout Les's time in the swamps.

I mean you know how recruiting works, don't you? Half of those kids committed before the move to the SEC. How is A&M's 2014 recruiting class looking? Didn't include that in your research, did ya? I see how you work. Pretty sneaky. Preeeeetty sneaky.
