Teams don't take mercy knees while losing. You take them when you are winning and you have the ball as the clock is running out.

You can take winning by 3 as a “mercy knee” if you want through your inbred goggles but 28-7 arse whooping is the real mercy knee

Maybe if Kirby's win% against Alabama was higher than 22% and he got wins under other circumstances people wouldn't be able to say anything.
It’s not that you are able to make excuses that make you appear insecure, it’s that you choose to make them.

I didn't start this thread. I responded to your fellow fans trying to take winning a single game into meaning more than it did.
As far as the game itself goes, congrats on your win, it was well deserved.
Beyond that, kiss my arse because your coach is 2-7 against Alabama, 1-2 against Alabama in the past 2 years and 1-1 against Alabama this year.
Your fans wanted to take things beyond the game and I'm more than happy to do so.

In the last two games that mattered the most against bama, the National Championship and the SEC Championship, Georgia is 2-0 with a combined score of 61-25.

I really don't think Deboer told him to slide down. I think Ty did that on his own just like the long out of bounds throw to Germie on 4 and 2.
So serious question...what in your opinion has happened to Ty? I never got the impression he wasn't tough watching him early. I did miss the FSU game though and we didn't get after him the first meeting. But even against Oklahoma I never felt like he'd checked out even though he was not making good decisions as he did earlier and had definitely channeled his inner Carson Beck with respect to picks

A mercy knee isn't based on the score. It's based on the winning team having the ball at the end of the game and just taking a knee instead of running plays.
You know, the reason it's also called "victory formation".

You are 1-1 in every year you have a win over Alabama and only have losses in the others.
And this past game didn't really matter much at all. Neither team moved in the playoff rankings.

The new bama. Losing the SEC Championship does not "really matter much at all."
Kirby was talking about making the bama players tap out (which they did). I wonder if he knew he was also going to make bama fans tap out?

You would have likely moved up quite a bit and gotten a home game versus a night game in Norman. That didn't matter?
So did the 2021 game matter?

Weird because you just sat here and told me the 2021 SEC Championship game didn't mean anything.

It mattered to you bc you have no national championships since a contested Covid year … so no it didn’t to us

We are both still in the playoffs because the format is stupid. Teams were better off not playing in it at all.
2021 didn't really matter because we didn't win the NCG. It's a SEC championship with just adds to a stat, but it's not the real goal. I think we have like 25% of all SEC championships or something like that. It's not like you are close to having more or something.
You think I give a crap about Georgia's 2017 SEC championship when we won the NC?

Did the Oklahoma game mean anything? What about FSU?
Posted on 12/9/25 at 3:51 pm to 3down10
so you'd rather open the playoffs on the road to a team that beat you at your house. yep, meaningless

Individually not really due to the crappy playoff format. They should matter though.
If it was up to me, we would just have a national championship game with Indiana vs Georgia, and I think Georgia wins easily.
But I don't make the rules.

Obviously. So is it your contention that the game not mattering is why you got taken to the woodshed?

But this insecurity thing is because uga 2021-25 > bama 21-25.

I'd rather have the bye because the team needs the extra rest badly. As far as playoffs go, missing the game completely is the best option. I'd rather have a bye week and home field advantage.
Alabama is favored in that game btw. If our offense manages to get back to what it was then and we don't make mistakes, we probably win easily. If we continue to struggle and have poor ST play like we did against them the first time, and did the past weekend - probably gonna be a rough night and a loss.
