The first couple of years Miles had players Saban recruited. That is correct. But Miles' coaching staff won the games. Not sure why you believe in some Saban aura for players that were on the LSU team 2 and 3 years after Saban was gone. That is embarrassing for you.

Did Saban recruit them? Check

Had LSU just recently won a NC? Check

Would those two situations for any other school in the country help in recruiting? Hell Yes!

Would it definitely help in the SEC? Absolutely

Did those "good" players that he already had on his team help to win games and improve his record? Check

Does a SEC school having a good record and going to a bowl game have anything to do with recruiting? Check

So..in summation. Les's success in recruiting can be contributed to Saban plain and simple.

Let Les take over an Ole Miss school right now and see how well he does in recruiting. That's precisely what Petrino did following the exact same coach, and look what he has managed to do.
