quote:when used the way you suggested, pretty much. the larger the sample size, the more meaningful.
So what you're saying is, points, yards, interceptions, sacks, defense...all of that...it's meaningless
quote:yes
Wins and losses is the only thing that matters
quote:yep. ark is a very good team. the problems mentioned in this thread are relative to sec competition. ark would beat most every team in the country. having said that, i still don't think ark's offense is significantly better than lsu's. lsu can move the ball when needed, including bama. i think had miles called some different plays, lsu would have had more success but, i certainly can't prove it. i'm just basing it off what i've seen all season
So by that measure, LSU is awesome (never argued) and Arkansas is slightly less awesome?

quote:yep. if you've paid attention, you would agree. ark's best comes nowhere close to lsu's best. last year, different story.
I just think its funny that the only way we win is if LSU plays their worst game

Shouldn't any objective observer believe that to be true?

Couldn't we play our best game??

you could...and you'd still lose.

You could.
Your best game vs LSU's Best game, you lose by 21.
Your best game vs LSU's average game this season, you lose by 10.
Your best game vs LSU's worst game, you win.

lsu is very, very good in the run game. ark is not so good at stopping the run, healthy or not
Yeah. Arkansas sucked stopping the run without half their starters! They'll suck no matter what. Are you serious with this shite?
quote:
lsu might even be losing at the half but, ark's d is going to wear down. this opens up the pass when lsu has 3rd and long.
I think you meant 3rd and short. If arkansas' d is worn out you won't have many 3rd and longs. But I agree with your sentiment and think it's likely.
quote:
defensively, lsu can definitely hold their own against ark's one dimensional offense.
Once again, I don't think we're as one dimensional as stats would have you believe. But you don't seem to care about injuries, so I guess we'll throw out the first half of the season when our 2nd best (Knile being 1st) RB finally starting getting healthy. So despite our vast improvement in rushing offense since his return, we can go with your assumption that Arkansas will only throw the ball.
quote:
special teams, no need to comment.
You're not facing a slouch in terms of special teams. LSU's great, sure. But Arkansas has 2 KO returns for touchdowns compared to LSU's 1. Arkansas has 2 punt return TD's compared to LSU's 0. LSU field goals (13-15, long of 44) is fantastic. Arkansas is good too (14-18, long of 50). LSU definitely has a great punter with his 43.4 yard avg, but Arkansas' averages 44.3.
Not sure I understand why you think special teams will be so one-sided.
quote:
if lsu plays the way it has all season and ark plays the best game it's played in the last decade, lsu can still win by more than 20 points. anyone who has watched either team at all this season should see this.
Won't they have to watch all 100+ games arkansas' played over the past decade to get a true reading on if your horseshite is truly accurate? What if LSU plays like they did against MSU?
quote:
now, lsu could have 5 turnovers and ark could capitalize. however, this doesn't seem likely. it might be that lsu emotionally committed the entire season to the bama game and will suck the next 3 games. again, unlikely. ark will probably score in the neighborhood of 17-20 points. lsu will probably put up 30.
That's only a 10-13 point win. But YOU say:

I guess you haven't seen either team play this year.

so why would you even bother arguing about your "high flying offense" when you're conceding a win?

Arkansas is giving up 375 yds/game in rushing Defense!

I will say this that if our defense keeps LSU from scoring over 30 points then we will win this ball game.
No fricking way you score 30 in red stick

ALMOST the argument.
You're getting better! It's cute. Don't stop trying.

You really are retarded.
Not ONCE in this entire thread have I made any claims about our offense, be they positive or negative. My entire argument about measuring offensive success was purely philosophical.
The other point none of you seem to grasp is that I can say that Arkansas has improved since Bama. I can say that our running game has gotten better. I can say that our OL has gotten better. I can say that we'll be healthier.
AND I CAN STILL ADMIT THAT LSU SHOULD WIN THE frickING GAME.
Jesus Christ.

Grammatically speaking, what does that say about the rest of you? For all of my "functional retarded-ness," it should be extremely easy to refute some of my points, but you guys evidently missed them in the first place.
