Les is undefeated in bowl games. He beat Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and GT while at LSU. Saban and Urban are not. Saban got embarrassed in the last Sugar Bowl and lost to Iowa in the Cap 1 bowl and Texas at the Cotton Bowl while at LSU. Urban lost to Michigan last year after Appalachian State beat them. Saban and Urban are getting free passes similar to Stoops and Tressel while Les is being called out by idiot fans. Why is that??

i can understand your angle, but you have to be real about how each coach got to where they are and what challenges they faced. to be realistic, Miles' product is probably last year and onward. no one is saying he's a bad coach. clearly he's a good coach. we're saying we don't think he's QUITE on the level of the upper echelon. but, since LSU is now elite, he can keep pulling the job off. if you wanna be a Miles loyalist, you'll do nothing but help your team. but truth has power because it IS the truth. so, being TRUTHFUL helps your program fastest.

Miles just needs to start learning his role fast, now that HIS product is on the field now entirely.

you're right. i honestly didn't get through the entire post before i started responding. and because it was coming from an Ole Miss fan, i really don't think he was implying that Saban was Christ.

(btw, you still sound foreign or drunk)

That gets me to this point, no one does Les With More than Les Miles. The only team able to bring equal talent in the SEC was Florida since he's been at LSU.

Since Miles has been at LSU, UF, UGA and LSU have had the best talent. Everyone wants to downplay the UGA talent for some reason..... Miles hasn't had an enormous talent advantage over the other top SEC teams either. It's not like Auburn was fielding scrubs in 2005, 2006 and 2007. He has had one disappointing year so far, and that can be largely attributed to a raw freshman QB. Urban Meyer had a disappointing year 2 years ago, and Richt has had a couple also....But Les talks poorly in front of the camera, so clearly he can't coach.

quoting collegeFBrules. 'I don't know you, so my inclination to call you a worthless piece of fricking shite may seem over the top...but, for this one post specifically, you are a worthless piece of fricking shite.'

this constitutes witty banter to you?...

certainly I cannnot speak to the context of this posting but you don't seem like someone of consequence. should I waste a breath debating you on the internet?

Saban is still winning with Shula's players. Meyer won a BCSNC with Zook players. This will be the last year that Zook players are on the team. Saban still has a couple of years to go. So why are we focusing on Les and not Saban and Urban? Can they win with there players? Because the Utah loss and Michigan loss for Alabama and Florida are embarassing losses for the SEC. I am glad Les has represented the SEC like a champion that Saban and Urban would envy.

Is Les really that bad a coach?
I mean he did take over a bad Okie State team and made them at least respectable in a conference that Texas/Oklahoma dominant.
He has come to LSU played in 2 SEC Championships won 1 and won a NC.

Sure does he make some boneheaded calls, yeah but lets be honest when those calls work he is labeled a gambler (going for it on fourth down) when they fail he is labeled retarded.

Seems so far majority of his calls have gone LSU way so I can't really doubt him yet. He made mistake by promoting friends who were not exactly ready for primetime but then corrected the issue.

All coaches are as good as the assistants they hire and the recruits they get. Its the way that they present themselves in public which has majority of fans base their opinions.
Hell dude has a college degree which is more than half people here, his teams win, and he has always been employed in football. He must have enough wits about him that people assume he knows what he doing.

Hell well see more this year and next of what kinda coach he really is. If he fails LSU will buy him out and find another coach its that simple.

And you know what you son of a bitch, the next time someone wants to say calling someone's child with Down Syndrome a retard is funny or they should have been aborted, I'll call them a fricking piece of shite to. Why don't read the context in which that was said in and not isolate one reply and try to make into something it isn't.

WTF are you talking about? He coached the damn recruits. The coaching means more than the recruiting. Plus he has proven he can recruit as well as the "savior" Nick Saban. If you go back and look at their rivals recruiting the past four years(excluding the transition year for Saban) they are equals. You people are fricking retarded with this bull shite of this guys players crap. The coach who is coaching the team is the person who deserves credit. Ya'll are basically saying the recruiting coordinator is a better coach than the HC every year.

chill out there hombre. it's called an opinion. if i didn't know any better, it SOUNDS like you have issues with either anger, resentment or jealousy (or a combination).

btw, it is easy to bottle up your feelings about who is ultimately responsible for the wins. everyone likes to say "Hey, if we are a winning program, it's all because of our coach." and the same goes for losing.. but all i'm saying is that there is a lot more to wins and losses than just one man's coaching job. (to agree with you a little though, i had no IDEA how MUCH of a difference a REAL headcoach can make at a program until Saban got here).. so i could chose to give Miles more credit for the wins, but i just can't. he doesn't seem like the key ingredient to LSU's success post-Saban.

all i ever said in this thread is that Miles isn't as good a coach as Saban and that Miles is definitely a good coach.. i also think it best for him to CEO the team and know his role. that is all.
