I don't know about that. Gramblings chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia has hats like that. It's a music fraternity and they also have a booster club called "The Thin Red Line." I'm going with Grambling.

yes, because the odds that he went and got one of those is so likely. i have a hat just like the one he has, the yellow is just something weird

He was in NOLA a lot right after Katrina. It's not that unlikely.

can't get it to upload right now but either way, you find me a link online where their is a grambling logo with a red line around it and i will believe you and admit defeat. but otherwise i see no proof in it, that is a red outline and not nearly as yellow as the grambling logo

I don't need an online link. GSU has HISTORICALLY used the black, yellow & red combo in their band for years. That hat is given to band members in that fraternity. You can't buy it. I'm anxiously awaiting your pic though. I'm not saying you don't have this hat but I would just like to see it.
