State needs a major change on offense BADLY. Bad offense has wasted multiple really good State defenses in the last 7 years. At the very least, Lebby could make State far more interesting on that side of the ball.

I do not think it is final yet but I believe this is the most likely path and frankly the best of the realistic options that have been presented for State. They need an offense guy.

You speak the truth. State made it clear they wanted a proven head coach. It looks like they’ve been turned away by multiple HCs. If I had to pick an Assistant it would be Lebby. But being a great assistant doesn’t equate a head coach. State just fired a great DC after just 10 games.

A lot of people don’t know the story but Art Briles and his staff came up with a rush/snap system. Very QB decision system. It balances on speed and read a defense. And they all agreed they would never share their offense. Ever. And that has been the case. Only former QBs of the system can tell you what they’ve been taught.

Lebby is married to Briles’s daughter. And true that the rape/coverup scandal never touched him.

State is losing a lot of defensive players after this year. There is a lot of defensive rebuilding to be done there. And Lebby can only do so much with the QBs he has been left with. Rogers staying for that last year would be big with Lenny. Otherwise he has to hit the portal. And hope for the best.
