That dude did not have an offer. You don't go from being die hard, and hating a rival, to commiting to that rival.

He was a die hard Bama fan til he visited AU and saw what it was about. What's so unbelievable about that?

Hell, I thought Tuscaloosa was a hell hole city until I actually visited, now my impression of TTown is totally different.

About a week after that article Shannon Brown committed to Bama, he probably took Landrum's spot. Not hard to figure out.

Landrum looks like a good athlete, but I sincerely hope he didn't actually think he had a shot at playing MLB at Bama.

Congrats on getting what looks like a good linebacker, but I'll pass since we have much greater athletes at that position still on the board. Hell, I think we already have a better LB committed so doesn't bother me at all.

Barners are easy to please though. Never seen anyone more satisfied with mediocre achievements in my life.

Chris Landrum has been a life long Alabama fan who lives only a little over an hour from Tuscaloosa. Alabama has been keeping an eye on Landrum but has yet to offer.

Buncha blind optimists I tell ya. They should all kill themselves. Much better than being happy with a good recruit. Damn moral victories and such. I sell propane and propane accessories.

Geez...why is everyone picking this commitment apart?

He's probably going to be a 3-star MLB who would have had a realistic shot at playing time for Bama in 2013, and will have a realistic shot to start at Auburn in 2012.

While he clearly had a Bama offer, his commitment to Auburn isn't going to cause Saban to lose any sleep...especially since Bama still has a good shot at some LBs who are more coveted than Landrum.

The bottom line is:
He's not a "Big Cat" in Auburn's class.
He's a more solid pick up than most bammers will admit.
His commitment to Auburn isn't a sign that Chizik has passed Saban as a recruiter.
He's a guy who will see the field on a regular basis by his Sophomore season but probably won't be a game changer.

Solid 3-star pickup, Aubie.

Some DB that the barners are excited about. Had an offer from Bama but not really. We all know he's garbage but that doesn't stop the barners with their moral victories and such..

Being happy with a good recruit is one thing. Acting like it's an actual victory over a rival is another, especially when that recruit isn't really spectacular or anything.

Just silly that the barners are trying to find any little thing to hold over bama's head, because they know Bama has their number.

BTW...how's Spencer Region working out for the barn these days? Nevermind, you're just a pig. I thought you were one of those pitiful, desperate cow-tippin barners.

Makes sense why you'd say that. Hank's from Texas, another place fond of moral victories.

And that my friend, is the one and only thing Arky football program can hang their hat on. "We beat AU two years in a row" , That's it, nothing else you can say to vouche for your program.

He will either add weight or if he is fast enough play safety. He could not play Lb at UofA at his size.
