But the key difference here is actively recruiting NFL players
If this was the real issue the SEC wouldn't have requested an open-ended continuance today. It's not though because 1) LSU wasn't the only school to do so and 2) there is no evidence LSU instigated the lawsuit anyone has mentioned outside of "anonymous sources" in a CBS report that Kiffin has vehemently denied, and 3) the two former Ole Miss players involved weren't even the first lawsuit regarding the 5/5 issue. The 19th can't get here fast enough.

One of the two managed to give Kentucky their only conference win of the year.

The saddest part of this post is how much better lane was at ole Miss than freeze. And when it was obvious that freeze was cooked, ole Miss did everything they could, even slander Houston Nutt, to try and keep freeze. When it was obvious that lane was going to leave ole Miss they just had to sit there and fricking take it.

There's some reason to this analysis.

However, there are two problems.

Number 1, the sport is far more openly corrupt now than it was then. There's less public pressure to maintain face and play pretend that people aren't cheating.

Number 2, LSU is a more valuable property than Ole Miss (or Arkansas inb4)

Number 2.a, the SEC is in an arms race with the Big 10. They can't afford to lose a member. Let alone one of their most valuable.

Not even close. Hugh was better at Ole Miss in every metric. This is exactly why I'm always making fun of LSU fans. They never know what the frick they're talking about.

One of the two finished a season last in the SEC conference standings...and one of the two was fired.

I hope you realize that this back-and-forth just further proves the OP’s point.

They tried to blame freeze’s recruiting violations on Nutt, got sued, settled, and gave a public apology to Nutt acknowledging that he had nothing to do with it.

Sure, Freeze called escort services while on recruiting trips 12 times on his university phone just because. There's a reason that POS slinked away into obscurity once Tom Mars subpoenaed his phone records.

Hugh is really closer to Dabo than Kiffin. The unwillingness to change is something Hugh and Dabo have in common. Kiffin is adaptable like all good coaches.

and the funniest part was all they had to do was issue an apology and they never get sued and Freeze's phone records never see the light of day. Dude kept his job after NCAA sanctions yet couldn't survive Houston Dale Nutt

Freeze had a losing record in conference and 1 10 win season in 5 years. Lane had 2 11 win 2 10 win seasons in 6 years. It’s not close.

For one… You’re more than welcome to show me the evidence where they were actually provided for the players. I’ll give you a hint… You can’t because there was no evidence whatsoever.

You could have a shred of logical thought and understand that he purchased those escorts for himself. But maybe you’re right… There’s never been a single instance in history or a man goes on a business trip in a different city that his wife and buys himself an escort. That would never happen.
