Clowney is the kind of player you go after no matter what your defensive scheme is. He's a game changer, and an "instant pass rush." Saban is not retarded. The Rumph hire was genius and should only strengthen our chances with this monster.

Oh I agree, both schools are likely recruiting him as a Hybrid anyway.

Clowney is all South Carolina. Mom wants to be able to watch him play in person.

Clowney is probably staying home to be a Gamecock.

This.

Stephon Gilmore and DeVonte Holloman have been recruiting him alongside our coaching staff.

Let's see it's about an hour and a half from Rock Hill to Columbia. It's at least an 8 hour trip to Tuscaloosa, provided you turn off your bladder/colon before departing.

I know. I'm trying not to think about it. I don't want blue balls. If that were to happen I would blow my wad on NSD.

It would rival our 2008 class IMO.

Ingram
Dareus
Barron
Julio
Hightower
Lester
UpShaw
Jones
Cody

OK....maybe not.

Here's what you have to think about. Some of our studs from the 08 class turned out to be....not diamonds in the rough....but much more than we were expecting. Nobody expected Ingram to win the Heisman. Who thought Cody would be a 2nd round pick? Who thought Dareus would be a top 10 pick????

These guys are studs NOW. What could they become after three years under an elite coaching staff?
