Mitchell or Allen, my personal opinion that it would be Allen. He is getting major props from coaches, other players.

Petrino seems go go with seniority, Allen would have to be badd arse to start over B. Mitch.

FWIW, I don't think Wilson will get a Top 3 QB grade from his evaluation papers he sent in. He really can't read defenses that great, and he tends to lock onto receivers.
I think he needs another year. He's being projected really high in the 2013 drafts. He'll go ahead of Landry Jones with another year like his jr season.

It would be Mitchell's job to lose IMO
he's played some meaningful snaps already and is more familiar with the playbook. not saying Allen couldn't challenge I just dont think he's as physically or mentally ready as Mitchell.
either way its nice to have options at QB.

Wilson will be back. He isn't seasoned on reading defenses just yet. Its the reason why you saw our entire offense looking to the sideline this season after the defense had showed their hand. That did not happen under Mallett.

thinking out loud here but would Jacoby Walker's decision to leave be a sign TW is coming back? if not he could've definitely challenged for Mitchell and Allen for starting QB next year.

Hm, Mitchell. Just doesn't seem like he fits the system at all and just isn't that great to begin with. Always remember him being a better basketball player than football when he came out. I'm sure Petrino would get the most out of him, but not sure he'd be near as good as Mallett or Wilson has been.

Allen is a more talented QB, and he has better leadership skills. Lets not get crazy, he knows the playbook. He knew some of it while he was in high school.

He already left? If Wilson leaves would that leave you with only 2 QBs for next year considering you don't have any current ones committed?

Wilsons post game presser at the Cotton Bowl sounded 100 pct he would be back.
His family doesn't need the money, he needs to learn more about the QB position. He'll be back.

He's already enrolled at UCA, I believe.

yeah i think he left at semester and it wasnt grades.
im assuming BP's knows TW is returning or he wouldnt have just let Walker leave.
we also have Brian Buehner on the roster, I believe he was an invited walk-on from Louisville and redshirted in 2010. looked decent in spring ball, a good safety net at 3rd string QB

One of my friends who I met my sophomore year in college and he has been best friends with Tyler since he was little. He said he would be surprised if he went pro.

preseason top 5-10 with our best RB returning, QB returning (hopefully), OL more experienced, most DL returning, a favorable schedule and LSU and Bama at home?

Like WPS said, we likely get Millweard this class and I believe we get the younger Allen in the next.
Petrino isn't going to do anything to put himself in a situation to not have enough QBs or WRs. Wilson will be back next year and in 2013 it will be an Allen/Mitchell battle.
