I was called crazy for saying Tyler Wilson may leave after this season. Looks like it might happen...

I have been saying the same thing for a while now. Whether he leaves this year or next, he will be the 2nd or 3rd best QB in the draft. His stock will not improve much by staying so the smart financial decision is to go pro. If he feels like he wants another year in college then I respect that too. Solid QB.

The other night was when I saw his arm strength the most. That dude can move a football. I like the way he stands in there and takes a hit too. He'll be a good one, and of course I hope he leaves. Y'all know y'all want Claiborne, Montgomery, brockers, and RR to leave.

the throw he made to Jarius on the sideline in the 4th was sick, wish I could find a video but it was an NFL throw.

I think he comes back, didn't have a good feeling about Mallett last year but being the QB for the Hogs is a dream for TW and he knows we are set up for a run next year and he can improve his stock.

but of course money does talk so we'll see.

I'm most impressed with his poise and toughness. He has an NFL arm, but plenty of shitty QB's do. What separates him is he was hit hard all year and did not mentally collapse or start giving up on the play when the pocket collapses like 90% of QB's do after being hit several times.

2:10 mark, wasn't even a tight spiral but he put it on the money.

and as mentioned in the article he had a pretty subpar line all year. with a more experienced line next year he could really put up some ridiculous numbers. sure it helped having bad arse WR's but he puts the ball on the money and makes it easy on any WR that's in there.

Wilson > Bray

Both as a college player and pro prospect

Maybe so, but I wouldn't be surprised if Bray is high on draft boards next year.

Laugh all you want, but if everyone is healthy and academically eligible (both big if's), Bray will be throwing to arguably the two best receivers in the conference behind an offensive line full of second and third year starters.

will both affect his draft stock no matter what.

Will his ability to stay healthy be an issue?

I'd say smoking and grades are a bigger issue right now. His injury was a fluke. He is skinny so I do cringe a bit when he gets hit, but as of right now, I don't see much reason to believe he is injury prone.

However, to be a high draft pick next year, he definitely will need to stay healthy throughout the season. I think he will be a high draft pick if he does stay healthy and continues to work on game management in the off season, but it's going to be hard to draft him if he only has 3 partial seasons under his belt.

Kiper says Tyler Wilson would be #3 QB draft prospect this year behind Luck and RG3
Wilson would have to have a solid combine/pro day, unlike those other 2. His interview would be key. Iirc the interview portion is what devastated Mallet's draft position.

He could be as high as 3rd QB, or drop to a 4th/5th rounder.

You would think someone with that ability and opportunity would have used their down time more productively working on the grades and character. Will be another of those sad stories if he doesn't learn discipline. I am upset about the whole Dyer issue myself. Bray has a lot of skill hope he finds his way.

Though I don't know him personally Wilson seems like a well-spoken kid and by all accounts makes good grades. As far as football IQ playing in Petrino's system will help him immensely, he has as pro style a playbook as any other college program.

He could be as high as a top 15 pick. Mallett and Wilson have virtually nothing in common.

I would love to hire an offensive coordinator who knows Petrino's system. My favorite offense in CFB.

This. Wilson's interviews always show a pretty sharp and engaging person. I think Wilson will be fine in interviews. The kid has it and will do well in the NFL imo.
