honestly with Chavis and Saban/Smart, yes I do.
No, sorry. They would not be dominant. You think the 4/5* guys simply start over the lower rated guys because of their ranking out of high school or the fact they are better players in general usually? Going through our Top 11 defensive players...
DE Montgomery - 4*
DT Logan - 3*
DT Brockers - 4*
DE Mingo - 4*
MLB Minter - 4*
OLB Baker - 4*
CB Claiborne - 3*
CB Mathieu - 4*
CB Simon - 4*
S Taylor - 4*
S Reid - 4*

I thought Mathieu was a 3*
Just going off what I read a long time ago and I'm to lazy to google.
ETA: thats not a shot at him, was actually thinking Les pulled a gem outta the air.

Actually his argument was saying the longer Petrino developes players the better they get...
He said the classes have declined since 2009 but said the wins have increased citing I guess recruiting rankings don't really matter. He was clearly talking about the lesser rated classes not mattering, if they don't matter, then I guess the majority of the players this year and last were from those classes.

oh ok so that means Petrino is a better coach than Miles because he actually has to develop his players as opposed to being handed superior talent?
sounds good.

If that's what you want to tell yourself to sleep better at night
But no, that's not what I was saying at all, good try though.

your recruits get LSU/Bama bumps anyway, ours get the Hog drop when they commit to us.

Lulz Rivals is garbage now. But whatever makes your point I guess.

I guess they're doing something right then considering the defensive difference between LSU/Bama and Arkansas

It's still better than 247. 247 doesn't have several team websites up yet, they have not arrived with the big boys quite yet. Like I said though, they are rising fast and in a couple years should be the best as they get a full recruiting service site up and running with even more scouts out there. We all realize Pig fans are using 247 because simply put, it's what makes your class look best right now.

The difference comes down to in-state talent. Anyone who doesn't acknowledge that is ignorant.

Sorry man but Rivals has gone way downhill. People still flock to it because it's the most user friendly and that is it. Go ask the recruiting boards what is the best site out there right now and 90% of the people who regularly follow recruiting will tell you 24/7.

Petrino and Hog fans still didn't use this excuse in 2009 when he signed 9 4/5* players, 7 from out of state.

Hate to break it to you man, but they're right, Rivals is crap. And BTW, Scout actually has us at 16 right now and no one is trying to use them in the argument. 247 is the best out there right now.

I know the guy who runs one of the sites over at 247 and he even would tell you they are not at the capacity of Rivals quite yet. Rivals is going down, but it's still above 247 currently. Once again, 247 still doesn't even have a lot of team sites up and running.
And on this website rivals is still quoted way more than any other service.

it's not an excuse it's fact, anyone who disagrees (Hog fans included) is a dumbass.
and that stat proved my point, he had to go out of state to get those 7 players and of those 7 4 * players:
Crim (JUCO)
Knile Davis (not offered by Texas aka his homestate school)
DD Jones (not offered by instate LSU)
Anthony Leon (JUCO)
Austin Moss (not offered by any Texas schools)
Anthony Oden (JUCO)
Ronnie Wingo (picked us over home state Mizzou)
See the trend here? We can get out of state 4* guys but in most cases one of the reasons we get them is they weren't offered by their in-state school.
