The HUNH only really works if you don’t substitute the entire drive, forcing your opponent to call a timeout or fake an inury.

If you need a break just get the hell of the field and take one.

You don't need a hurry up offense to abuse the substitution rules, so no idea what the frick you are going on about to be honest.
My point, exactly. How exactly do offenses (I assumed you were talking about OM and their hurry-up) "abuse" the rules?
- Playing within them to their advantage? Yes.
- Pissing off other teams that can't take the same advantage? Absolutely.
- Whining about "abusing" the rules when someone is actually playing within the rules? Infantile.
Keep in mind, I'm an LSU fan and our offenses have never, ever been structured to take advantage of (or "abuse") the rules on offense to unfairly game the system against defenses. So I don't really have a dog in this hunt, other than trying to understand and respect the rules as they're currently written.

Yeah, who cares that you'll be down 1 man for a play, or get penalized for having 12 men on the field while substituting if the offense snaps the ball. I'm sure the offense will be more than understanding that an injured person needs to get off the field and be replaced with another.
Because even though they don't have enough time to substitute when healthy, a guy who just took a nut shot will have a much easier time getting off the field in time.
But at least Lane Kiffin won't get a small break to sub some players in some other game of no consequence.
