Not until IARP concludes their process - and decides whether Wade will receive a show cause. Timing on that is looking like mid June…..

Its already been decided and he's had his hearing, Wade is not and never was gonna receive a show cause. Wade will 100% be coaching next year as a head coach, it's just a matter of what school.

Wade would be a good fit at Ole Miss. He’d turn them into a good program that rarely is much of a threat to win the conference. That’s probably all Ole Miss fans are looking for.

I am going to go on record and say that will not happen. Not because it is a bad idea but because it is great idea we will figure out a way to not do that. Why? WAOM!!

For what? Doing NIL shite like 2 years before NIL was a thing?

Oh, he's touchable.

Still, I don't think Beard settles for a place like Ole Miss if that is all that is available.

Beard will end up at Louisville. Louisville has everything a coach could ask for plus the ACC is at one of its lowest points in history. Virginia is the only top ACC program that is stable and set up for long term success right now.

His hearing has happened within the last week. Why do you think you, or anyone else who's actually talking, knows what the result of that hearing will be? Yet everyone else is reporting no one will know his fate until the summer? Because you've read wishcasting rumors from Wade acolytes on tigerdroppings?

He might could end up at Ole Miss, but Ole Miss wouldn't hire him until that knowledge is public, and they may not want to wait until June to make a hire.

Sankey was at his hearing too. Given what we have seen with Sankey "dealing with" other coaches who have been in Wade's shoes (Freeze), I'm not so sure I have a lot of confidence Wade's next stop is going to be in this conference.

Wade inferred as much recently in an interview he gave in January this year. He, more or less, said he probably won't to be coaching at a big program when he gets another job and that things in life don't always go right. I took what he said to mean he expects to have to start back his career at a smaller G5 and work his way up the ladder again. That's pretty much what guys in his position traditionally have had to do. Rick Pitino (Louisville to overseas to Iona), Sean Miller (Arizona to Xavier), Jim Harrick (UCLA to Rhode Island to UGA), Kelvin Sampson (Indiana to NBA assistant to Houston), Steve Fisher (Michigan to NBA assistant to San Diego St) etc

Interested to see if these rumors materialize and if so what a gut shot.

The 1st wave of rumors in a coaching search are usually completely false

If we fired will wade and willingly tanked our basketball program only to have home hired half a season later by an SECW team, I’ll lose my shite

Eh, it wouldn't be ideal from an image standpoint but I think our fans overrate Wade quite a bit. With NIL available to everyone now, what is his recruiting advantage at Ole Miss? Yeah, he did a great job recruiting at LSU doing things that weren't legal at the time. Now that everyone can do it above board, what's his sell to recruits? What can he offer there that bigger basketball schools can't? Because him gathering elite talent was why he won games, not his gameday coaching. His teams were sloppy as hell and his defenses were awful more than they weren't.

I've heard people say Wade came around a few yrears too early and would have crushed it with NIL. I think the opposite. I think NIL being legal would hurt him. LSU basketball (as with Ole Miss basketball) just doesn't have the monetary support to outbid big basketball schools

That said, I certainly think Woodward took a gamble on the wrong mid major coach to replace Wade, but I'm also not going to "lose my shite" if another SEC team hires Wade either. Maybe it's because I've never cared enough about basketball and maybe that's because LSU's has never sustained success in basketball since the 80s for it to really bother me how good they are on a yearly basis.
