To be fair, Hartline's suspension hurt. I had this game down as a loss from that time on.

Well, isn't this just a giant suck-a-thon? Damn, Kentucky. Can you offer SOME resistance?

Every time I see your name, I get a craving for some Pho. I am going to have to make a run to the Vietnamese restaurant this week.

Kentucky lost to Ole Miss this year. Not a good football team.

I'm a history buff in general, but the late republic period in Roman history is one of my favorite eras.

Same. I always liked Gaius Marius more, of the two rivals. His career was a warning about starting well and ending badly.

Plus, Sulla was pretty much of a degenerate in his old age. But at least he didn't sack his own city.

That's kind of why I like him. His parade out of Rome when he laid down the dictatorship is a great moment in my opinion, especially if some accounts of his appearing with his lover Metrobius are to be believed. I appreciate that he never became so terrible and powerful in his own mind that he didn't see the humor in an actor (possibly prostitute) from a disgraced line of Cornelii could end up the first Roman to march on Rome.

I also think there is a bit of a lesson in his dictatorship as well as I do think in many ways he was a patriot. He went to extremes to restore the Republic in a means-are-justified-by-the-ends approach, and I largely agree with the spirit of why he tried to do if not the methods. Even after a brutal reset of the government to try to secure the future of the Republic, the citizens still managed to blow it all up in just over three decades.

Anyway, big time hijack
