Memphis covered your recievers because they run Houston's predictable routes...do you think we savvy Hog fans dont know what is going on, we've seen all of this before years upon years, Houston Nutt does not allow hot route reads, its just not in his genetic code...its slowly taking place at Ole Miss now...I'm sorry but that's reality.

Now the flu excuse, Snead regressing in his first game, the famous word, 'simplify' or the equally well known, 'scale back'. Those are classic code words all Hog fans know well and good.

And Snead should throw to them. Isn't that what he is suppose to do?

Of course... 'cept I don't know what Snead has to do with Mallett.

Either way, too early in the season for this shite. 1-0 is all that matters.

Cruiserhog it's probabaly a little premature to form the opinion that any one style of offense is going to be any more condusive to success this year with their talent than what Nutt is doing.

He has not had time to recruit and develop his own experienced offensive line. He has a QB he probabaly would not have recruited b/c the player never took a snap under center in highschool at least according to all the film I've watched of him.
He's got all these unfounded expectations and I can tell you Austins offense didn't move the ball much at all this spring or summer against their own first team defense.

Just b/c you see Nutt ball back doesn't mean all is gloom and doom this year. I don't think they have pass protection right now where they can throw much.

Ole Miss will be better under Nutt than it has been in the past decades.

How many times does it need to be said?

We could have literally scored 100. Our two best players touched the ball less than ten times combined (not counting Mallett).

I love what Petrino did. After the game was in control, he called runs when there were 9 men in the box just to get looks. I don't care what you say, but even a team like MSU can shut down the run with 9 men in the box. And it's not like the run game was bad - we averaged 5 yards per rush.

And people, this team will be getting a lot better. Don't you all remember that we SHOULD HAVE LOST TO WESTERN ILLINOIS LAST YEAR? Yet we ended up winning two games in the SEC and losing three others by a combined 6 points. We improved 500% during the year last year.

There is no telling what this team will look like come late October.

And the reason Hog fans are laughing at Ole MIss is because we saw exactly what we got used to with Nutt. A promising assistant slowly having his influence eroded away b/c Nutt is too egotistical to let him go. A QB regressing throughout his career. Being estactic with an ugly victory and crowing about "precious" wins and pointing out other teams that lost week 1 games. I seriously thought that leaving Arkasnas may have changed the man as a coach, and for the better. But after Sunday, I'm 100% convinced he's the same douche bag he's always been.

swingflu as for your last point I have another spin to put on it. Austin is a passing coach. Nutt is a running coach. Nutt does not have the offensive linemen to pass block and win the SEC west. He might have the defense and zone blocking and tailbacks to win the SEC west in some low scoring games. I guess that's one thing the casual fan that does not understand the game does not see. He does not have an experienced player right now to take over the most important spot on the offensive line and it can break down the entire passing game. Austin may or may not agree with that but who cares

As for the first point who cares if Arkansas won 100-0 or 50-0. They looked like shite.

Becuase it was in response to what Billy had posted.

"We'll have plenty of open receivers when we play SLU in 2 weeks".

Why is that hard to comprehend?

There is no possible way that he actually believes it. However, he is a damn good troll. He can somehow still piss me off, even though I know it's just a game he's playing.
