Why would Donovan go to UK?
Why did Saban go to Alabama ?

If Donavan goes to Kentucky, Grant goes to Florida and Billy Clyde goes to Alabama, then not only do you have to pay for BG, you have to pay for a driver for him too. With his alcohol problems, I don't think he can drive......

Honestly, those are totally different situations. Saban was miserable in Miami. He knew he would be less miserable in T-town. I still think he's miserable, just less so.

my point was Kentucky-Basketball and Alabama-Football ,while having struggled lately, are still perceived as plum coaching jobs. They don't come along that often.

I see. That comparison is definitely a valid one. I will disagree a tad though. While Alabama is a plum coaching job that many lower level/mid level coaches would jump at, we still had to pay a ton of money to attract a top level coach. Nothing wrong with that but it's not like a top level coach is just going to go anywhere based on their tradition alone.

i'm sure that they will offer travis ford before anyone.
he would be a great choice.

lol Travis Ford, I'll lmao if they choose him.

I agree. Its just that Donovan was an assistant there for a while under Pitino before he went to Marshall.

he's a pretty good coach.... better than Grant or Gillespie. If Donovan dont want it, he's the 2nd best

They aren't even going after Grant. You're telling me Travis Ford is the 2nd best option for UK hoops? Really?

well I dont see Self, Izzo, Calipari, or Pitino leaving their jobs. Who do YOU think they should go after?

Grant will go where Saban tells him to go.

CAliperi has been coaching for 17 years, and has been to two final 4's.
He can recruit his arse off, but is that a great resume? and he operates in CUSA...
He has some baggage from awhile back but there was a rumor they would offer him 2.5-3.5 p/yr to come.
I don't know - rumors flying around everywhere. We'll see.

Calipari could be passing up his best shot so far at a championship with the talent he'll have next year especially if by some shot Tyreke Evans stays

Ok, for all that wonder why Donovan would come to UK, here is some perspective. The last time Donovan was coming off of back to back NC's and really thought that would change the fanbase and get Florida more excited about basketball. Well that didn't work, they didn't even crack the top 25 in attendance the year after. I think he has realized that he is never going to get the kind of attention that he wants at UF. For their first round NIT game they had a little over 4,000 people in a 12,000 seat arena. UK on the other hand, had 8500 in and arena that was over capacity. And that was when our fans were pissed for being in the NIT.

Throw a frickton of money at Calipari. I don't think the other 2 would leave. The bottom line is that there's plenty of more proven guys out there than Travis Ford.
