Obviously everyone's opinion is equal and deserves to be heard. Now I would like to see just one WR anywhere in the NCAA that is as strong and as hard to tackle than Julio Jones. Got any suggestions?

Hard to tackle is not the strongest necessarily. Wes Welker was almost impossible to tackle in college and thus he has the record for most Punt TD returns but he is no where near the strongest in the league. There are WR's who are 20 lbs heavier than that guy, Julio is pretty lean actually.

How many other WRs draw the entire defense to make the stop? And are you implying that a lean individual can't be strong? Of course he's lean. He's a WR. How many fat WR's do you think are running around out there?

I wasn't implying that there are fat WR's simply that Julio is on the skinnier side of the spectrum. I of course would never imply that lean individuals can't be strong but he is by no means the strongest in the league. I would be willing to bet he isn't even Bama's strongest WR in the weight room, he is just too long and lean.

A. Depends on what variables are being used to determine "strength."
B. Name those that you believe to be "stronger."

Percy Harvin did. And oddly enough, he still requires multiple tacklers now that he's in the NFL.

Percy was primarily a speed guy. Julio is just plain hard to drag down, while Harvin was hard to catch.

And Percy is in the league now so I don't really see why he was even mentioned.

No, Percy was "plain hard to drag down". And he is still hard to drag down after initial contact in the NFL.

He was in the SEC last year and so was Julio.

how many times has all 11 players had to wrap up on Percy? Percy dodges a lot. Julio just trucks, stiff arms, and throws people aside.

Don't kid yourself. Percy is an exceptional athlete and anyone would be stupid to not want him to play for whatever team they root for. But Percy and Julio are completely different styles of ball carrier.

Actually he was in the NFL last year.

I never said they were the same. We're talking about strength.

And like I said to the barner, you have to define "strength" in order to determine who has the most of it.

Still don't see the relevance of it.

That's true. And that's just one of the problems with this thread.

I'm not arguing that Julio is not the strongest WR as much as I'm arguing that there is no way for anyone here to know. So it's all kind of pointless.

Strongest WR in college football is a big statement to make. Percy is one player who played when Julio played that is really damn strong. Not to mention the hundred(s) other WR's in the country.

The point is this thread is incredibly stupid.

I've participated in this thread, but I haven't been active on the SEC Rant in a while.

So you may want to hold off on the until you know how to use it.
