There's two sides to that coin. He is bipolar, and I have some personal experience with that. It's an ugly disorder. But everyone in his circle, from his parents, to his "friend" Nate, to his coaches, enabled everything he did. It was a perfect storm. And to this day he's leaching off of people after blowing the millions he made in the league, and he seems to accept no personal responsibility for it.

I agree with your analysis overall. However, i suspect that many folks at A&M knew of his condition and failed him. The Aggie fans were whooping and hollering, the merchandise companies were making millions, the university grew from 40,000ish to today over 75000. Everyone made money off Johnny Football. At the end of the documentary, he said candidly, and I paraphrase, I was a frat boy and all I wanted to do was play football and party. The Declaration of Independence guarantees us the right of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Johnny Manziel was living the America dream. Hope he truly finds the last part.

He had overnight fame after his Heisman, then party life started coming out. True story, I remember wearing an A&M shirt in Boston once during that time, an old lady came up and said, “I just wish they would leave that boy Johnny alone”. I was dumbfounded some 80 year old lady on the East coast knew who he was. He was that famous during that year.
