Balled out and then went 'meh' after a coaching change. He was great with his first App St. HC.
not saying he's Hooker but he has far better stats than did Hooker before Heupel got a hold of him.

Joey Aguilar will have a much better year than Nico. Book it

He's a baller and will have way more weapons than he's ever had.

That wouldn’t surprise me at all, although it would go against everyone’s beloved star ratings. (He was a 3 star though.) Been reading some stuff on Aguilar, apparently he’s laid back and gets along with everyone in the locker room, and he’s fearless and tough as nails and gets up when he’s knocked down and comes back for more on the field, and is a leader that people gravitate to both places. I hate to say it but Tennessee might have traded up.

I said in the thread earlier this week that we were looking at 7-5, 8-4 at best. I’m not changing that opinion.

I hope he puts up crazy numbers and gets us a bowl win, and maybe gives himself a chance to get a look at the pros, while Nico shits the bed out in LA.

He honestly has an opportunity to do the funniest thing here. Would make for a great 30 for 30 down the road.

Often times Star ratings are just kids that peaked early and before everyone else and therefore dominated. I don't put much stock in the star system. Obviously there is some correlation but those websites also miss on kids all the time because they don't really scout - the schools scout and they base their ratings on who offers as opposed to actual real talent and potential evaluations. All that said- I think Aguilar is going to ball out. I also think UNC made the right choice to avoid daddy lama and his merry band of handlers.

Do you think yall try to bring in anybody else or roll with Aguilar, Merklinger, and MacIntyre?

We will roll with those three and see who comes out of fall camp when the smoke clears.

I selfishly hope Aguilar balls out and Nico struggles. I know most of this board hates us - largely thanks to the alters - but Joey having a fantastic season and Nico shitting the bed would be good for college football and a valuable portal lesson.

What’s the consensus on Merklinger? I assume MacIntyre needs a year to add some weight and adjust to the speed of the game. I haven’t read anything about y’all’s spring camp outside of the Nico drama.

Merk has a good deep ball. I’d be fine with him as starter, and he could win the battle straight up.

GMac assessment spot on, needs to add some weight and adjust to the game.
