He is elite. I shudder to think about how good that 2019 offense would be with JD playing QB.

This is next level.

Is the best QB and offensive player in the country. He's head and shoulders better than the next tier guys and he should win Heisman Trophy if there's any justice left in the award. He probably won't win it due to record (let's be honest), but he should. He should also be the #1 pick, or at least the #1 QB taken in next year's draft. He's a stud.

Anyway, just wanted to tip my hat. He's definitely the most deserving of the Heisman but the award isn't given to the best player anymore, it's given to the best player on the best team.

Subtle troll there. Amazing how badly Burrow broke so many Gumps.

There is literally no troll there, but it speaks to how badly I’ve broken you people. I’m sitting here talking about how elite your current starting QB is, and you can’t help but get defensive about it.

Wild.

Per CFBstats, brought here by internet user koreandawg, this 2023 offense led by Jayden Daniels is averaging 8.42 yards per play against P5 competition. That is an outrageous number that not even the 2019 offense had. This offense doesn’t have Jamaar Chase, Jordan Jefferson, or CEH, either.

Amazing numbers. When he takes off it seems he always runs for a big one. Crazy. No one can get their hands on him and bring him down. Very elusive and great open field runner.

Sure!! I mean, yeah, it wasn’t really subtle I admit. Just trying to give you some credit.

You guys are right.

Adding a QB who averages over 8 yards per carry definitely wouldn’t make that 2019 even better than it was.

I’m sorry for suggesting something so silly.

But since I’m here:

Passer Rating:

2023 Jayden Daniels - 202.1
2019 Joe Burrow - 202.0

QBR:

2023 Jayden Daniels - 94.2
2023 Joe Burrow - 94.9

And JD is doing that without a multiple Pro-Bowl receivers to throw to.

Let me reiterate. It’s just amazing how badly Burrow broke you. It’s truly the gift that keeps on giving.

Not out of the question he wins. Two games remaining with an opportunity to have 1,000+ yards and 8-10 more TDs. Washington still has to play OSU, I feel they are due to shite the bed

I’m legitimately confused.

Can you explain your position? Like with quantifiable stats, as I have provided above in multiple posts? This 2023 offense is averaging more yards per play vs P5 competition than the 2019 offense, and are doing it with less talent. That’s due to Jayden Daniels’ elite skill set as both a runner and a passer. JD and Burrow have almost identical RTG (edge JD), and QBR (edge Burrow), and JD is doing that without Chase, Jefferson, or CEH.

Defend your position.

That's a fair point. Is he better than Burrow? He just might be. This LSU offense may also be better than the 2019 offense

No. Jayden is really good, but you're forgetting the windows Burrow could throw into with ease.

Jefferson and Chase were better than Nabers and BTJ, and Marshall was 10 times the receiver that Lacy is. CEH is better than Diggs.

I think this OL might be better aside from center, and the TE's this year are better.

Burrow wouldn't have starter off as slow as Daniels did. He'd have this team with another win for sure.

Pretty sure Daniels is #1 in pass yards per attempt and #2 in rush yards per attempt

When it's all said and done, there will be more pro bowl receivers from the 2023 team than the 2019 team.

You're just a dumbfrick.

Nabers and Thomas are great but that’s a hell of stretch

Chase and Jefferson have done things no WR duo out of college have ever done

I'm talking about the young guys we won't see play until next year.

Jalen Brown, Sampson, etc.

My position quite simply is that your praising of Daniels only came with an attempt to belittle Burrow, who again broke you in 2019. You know exactly what you did, I know exactly what you did and most everyone else does to. As the single most obsessed LSU poster on this site I would have expected nothing else.

Far too scrawny. His speed won't be as much help in the league.

Phenomenal college player, wouldn't expect much in the NFL.

He leads by a wide margin for QBs with more than 100 pass attempts. 1.1 yards more per attempt than the next closest QB, which is Milroe. Remarkable.

Rushing yards per attempt is harder to compare. If we filter out anyone with less than 50 attempts, he’s tied for first place with 8.1 YPC. If we filter out anyone with less than 100 attempts, he’s leading by almost half a yard per attempt.

He’s putting up video game numbers.
