Because of that, SEC had to swallow Missouri 20 years later.
Ah yes. And if mizzou finishes t10 this year that’s like the 4th time in 11 years with a t10 finish. Sounds like a bad addition

lol. Texas has a $45 Billion Endowment. Outside of A&M the rest of the SEC has about $25 Billion combined. No one has power within the media like they do. They have massive influence in the Academic and Research world and within the AAU. You simply don't understand how this works. You don't control a school like Texas and they don't consider anyone their equal.
Im well aware of their standing, which is why getting chosen by them instead of the more like minded and wealthy Big Ten is a huge get for the SEC. The Big Ten is already always one step ahead of us in revenue no matter how much we win on the field. The last thing we need to do is hand them Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and OKC.

A&M will also likely cut their own deal with Texas because they need us both from an internal politics perspective and we have a large enough power base to threaten them.
The SEC has never dealt with anything like them. You think Alabama is a real power. I am old enough to remember how Nebraska thought they were Texas' equal and thought they would rule the Big 12. I remember when Texas used the enforcement office of the NCAA to destroy the SWC when other schools started playing by their rules.
Where was all this super awesome mega political and media power when we were in the BIG 12 with them all these years? They didn't rule shite. They were a punchline

I don't remember Nerbrasky! ever thinking they would rule the Big 12. I think you just made that up.

As a Texas fan, we should have joined 14 years ago when they were flirting with the PAC, but our old athletic director Deloss Dodds and Mack Brown were too small-minded about common football culture.

Bobby Bowden at Florida State and even Miami refused the SEC invite because it was too hard. I suspect the shorthorns came to the same conclusion. Now, this thing is about money and greed is making a lot of these decisions.
