The second a lateral touches the ground it is officially and technically a fumble. So therefore per the way the rules are written it shouldn't not be able to be advanced.

technically you are incorrect.

quote:

ARTICLE 3. A live ball becomes dead and an official shall sound his whistle or declare it dead:
[...]
b. When any part of the ball carrier’s body, except his hand or foot, touches the ground or when the ball carrier is tackled or otherwise falls and loses possession of the ball as he contacts the ground with any part of his body, except his hand or foot [Exception: The ball remains alive when an offensive player has simulated a kick or at the snap is in position to kick the ball held for a place kick by a teammate. The ball may be kicked, passed or advanced by rule]

take a few minutes and try to digest that.

Ok I was wrong on this.

I don't have an issue admitting when I'm wrong if I know for sure I am wrong.

Upon further review you can advance a fumble on 4th down if you recover it from behind where it was fumbled at. Aka you just can't advance a fumble that went forward.

That being said it has nothing to do with it being behind the LOS like some other fricking retard coonass said trying to argue a point that he refuses to actually look up. Dumb frick corndog.

Just think if it was florida who did the fake just like LSU did.
Pictures with circles and arrows posted everywhere, FBI callings, thread after thread about cheating refs, bmy probably would shoot himself, and this would go on incessantly for months, if not years.

Except no there wouldn't be because the play wasn't illegal dumbass.

And why does it infuriate the LSU fan base that they got away with one?

We didn't get away with anything. The play was legal.

He is easily top 3. He never actually adds to the discussion. He just tries to troll LSU with every post.

Even that's not correct. Even if the ball is fumbled on 4th down beyond the LOS it can be advanced as long as it is advanced by the guy who fumbled it. (Yes, yes, I am being pedantic, but this might be overlooked by some).

Same as the year the beat UF in tSwamp due to the fake field goal.

On 4th down you cannot advance a fumble. That year the holder threw it over his shoulder and it bounced on the ground and the kicker caught it on the bounce.

Holy shite. Do you ever post anything that isn't dumb or outright wrong?

Wow. The irony in this post is spectacular. You rolled into thread calling a play illegal WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE RULE

That tells me all I need to know.

But the play was legal because the player started the play in that position and didnt move. Next.

That's not true

There is a rule that requires the holder to have his knee down... The rule is that if the holder comes off ground, then back down, then he is down

thought that when the player who had the ball was down and the play dead if his knee was down? Looks like lsu got away with one on that fake FG.
Oh my...

Na, it just looks like you don't know the rules of cfb

1. Snap to holder
2. Holder fakes fg simultaneously with kicker.
3. Holder tosses lateral to kicker.
4. Kicker scores td from lateral toss.

Where are you seeing a fumble in this process? Also, if it was a mystery fumble, it can still be tossed laterally to a runner as a fumbled snap.
