Except they're only noticing one game. That's the problem. You really only have one big game this year and he didn't show up for it.

Heisman race is far from over.

Fournette can't run over the entire defense.

Desperation? I think henry wins the Heisman unless Bama loses again. I have no issue with that. LF didn't show up in the biggest game of the year.

Sucks for him but that's the reality of the award. All the winners have either been guys who are a one man offense (RG3, Manziel, Cam) or very good players surrounded by a great team, making them look extraordinary (Ingram, Leinart, Carson Palmer). Fournette is a very good player on an okay offense

He showed up for it,his team couldn't help him make a hole. No one could have put up any stats that night against Bama's 2 week game plan.

Considering LF is still the odds on favorite, and considering he plays A&M the last game of the year where he most likely breaks the LSU single game rushing record, the award is basically his

Oh, was the Heisman already given out? I missed it.

Also, it's not like Henry hasn't been talked about all year. He is 5th in rushing yards and 1st in rushing TDs and has shown up big in Bama's perceived biggest games. He has been a beast in conference play and against Wisconsin. Nobody cares that he didn't pad stats against MTSU and Monroe.
Still I think if Fournette goes for 150/game the rest of the way, he will probably win it. One risk is that Henry/Fournette split a lot of votes allowing someone (possible a QB like Watson?) to snatch the trophy.

Will be tough to generate much excitement around beating a 7-4 A&M team.
Maybe Fournette still wins because it's one of those years where there just isn't anyone deserving, but a true Heisman winner would have put his team on his back in the biggest game of the year and led them to victory

Then no player should ever be held responsible for bad stat line ever again in the game of football. It's a team sport and you rely on 10 other people on offense or defense to help you achieve those stats. Going forward I'm sure LSU fans will never pick out a negative stat line and use it as ammunition to make fun of Alabama or any other team in the conference or nation for that matter. I'm so glad the discourse on this website has finally achieve this level of intellectual elitism.

The Heisman is a media driven award. Very seldom does the best player win. Evidenced by how below average most of them are in the NFL.

quote:The A&M just may end up being the biggest game of the year. Nobody knows what the so called "biggest game" is until the season is over. If Bama loses to State, that game becomes irrelevant. That is why the "biggest game" is such a cliche'. In college football they are all huge

Over 300 yards. Far cry from a measly 30

Way to jump in front of the truck to save Fournette.

Why because we desperately want our boy to win the Heisman? Seems normal to me.
If I was an LSU fan I'd be more worried about possibly losing a shot at a SECC and NC. frick a heisman trophy.
