Is this what the board was like in 2011 for GOTC?

I wasn’t a member then but I wish I could’ve been part of it all. Hell even last year both teams were in the top 3 but this is different

I was a lurker but I didn’t remember Auburn fans sucking on Bama like this.

Honestly do not remember now. Watched the game at an LSU bar in Pittsburgh. What an incredible experience.

i still think the hype was much bigger in 2011 just because of the overall landscape of college football.
the SEC had won 5 straight national titles. both alabama and lsu had won all of their games pretty decisively so far that season. lsu had already handily beaten oregon, who was probably the 3rd best team in the country that season. it was still the bcs formula with only 2 teams in the championship game. it seemed, up to that point, like it was an all or nothing thing. the winner of that game would be the national champion.
obviously, that didn't happen. alabama got the rematch and won the title. however, it's a stark difference from this season.
now it's a 4-team playoff. you can argue that both of these teams are likely to make the playoff no matter what happens on november 9th. outside of the SEC, you have teams like ohio state and clemson that have proven they are very capable of beating both alabama and lsu and winning the national championship.
