Is there something about the place or is it just the players that makes for wins

Just wondering if you put the exact same team on the field would they perform the same at any given school?
Here is the thing, I am an Ole Miss fan, and it seems we have a saying "We are Ole Miss" for a reason. Are schools like Ole Miss, Vandy, MSU and UK doomed because of lesser facilities and tradition?
Does the Bama or LSU mystic contribute to success, insert FL, UT, UGA or AU too?
Could you put the same players from say Bama/LSU, coaches included and get the same results?
I think the atmosphere of an Alabama and an LSU does contribute to your success.

Not tradition but a lack of leadership and talent. The facilities are there finally.

You have to look outside of campus also. If I grow up in the likes of Miami, a large city, I wouldnt want to go to a small city.

Depth talent. Simple as that. Most teams in the SEC will have the Top 22 talent to compete with everyone, but it's things like Bama having 4 RB's that can play for any team or LSU having guys like Robinson, who could start for 98% of teams in the nation.

me thinks it has a lot to do with the depth of the roster
Competition breeds talent... Having depth will make blue chips work that much harder just to see the field.

Yep, but no one seems to want to answer the question of whether or not say a Nick Saban could do just as well at say a UK?

Nick would have UK a good team. Winning national championships, SEC titles, probably not. Part of it is the culture. His recruiting classes wouldn't be as good, and like Stoops there now, Franklin at Vandy etc...he would move on for more money to an easier place to recruit and that puts more emphasis on football. The Bill Snyders of the world are hard to find.
Demographics play a part as well. How long have the 3 Florida schools been good historically.
Dems can also hurt areas. Look at the Big 10, declining population base, etc. As well as individual teams...UT and OM were fantastic when only a certain percentage of their states pop. base were allowed to attend the SEC schools.
