Do people actually think that LSU will challenge UF?
Yes...and why wouldn't they?

The same team that beat both of em this year. The mighty Rebels of Ole Miss.
and if I'm not mistaken that was the first time since 1947 that Ole Miss was able to pull that off...

I disagree with you fellow Reb. We were the more physical team that day. That was no fluke. Wake Forest beating us last year was a fluke.
Yeah the UF game was no fluke, we were more physical than them and we made big plays when it mattered. Harvin balled out, so it's not like they didn't show up.
Big plays = winning football games.
We won the turnover battle 3-1, but we had an unaccounted for turnover on a "muffed punt" where we got screwed by officials, so it was 2-3 in our favor.

I say the credit is spilt. Florida partially played dead and gave yall opportunities, but Ole Miss DID capitalize on them.

i honestly think uga will compete. we arent gonna beat florida, but it will be EXTREMELY tough for lsu to come into athens and win.

arky is a bigger threat/wildcard than the barn. Bobby P is a better coach than gene and he had them playing alright by the end of the year. alot of young guys plus mallet who should end up being pretty good. I dont expect arky to play d but they could try and win shoot outs
Arkansas sucks. They return 20 starters that only won 5 games and now all of a sudden they are better?WI and ULM are def better.

Ryan Mallet will make a big difference. Whats the running back? a junior?

We got UF on the right day and played over our heads (for the time of the season). Plus guys we blocked a fricking extra point to win that one. It was a fluke. No one else got a chance to pull a fluke on them though, which says a lot. We were the only team besides Bama for 3 quarters and OU that could stay on the field with them and the only one who had a shot at the end. Not only did they give us a shot, we took it. Just remember that losses to Vandy and USC sandwhiched that one.

Florida- No.
LSU- At least 2 other west teams will challenge. West will be more interesting next year than in quite some time.

UF will miss Harvin more than they want to admit. They will also sincerely miss Murphy. Tebow was able to do a lot more because Harvin demanded the main attention of the Defense. The other speedsters will have good moments, but they have already been shown to be injury prone (Rainey) or just too small to be as effective as Harvin. UF will certainly be good again this year, but they will be far from unbeatable. Just have a feeling they lose two regular season and their bowl game...

They win the east with ease next year.

Let me get this straight.
The team that brings back its two-deep on defense, with an All American in Brandon Spikes at LB, AND a Heisman winner on offense in TT will lose TWO games? And the bowl game?
THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS?
Wow.
That would put Florida in the Cap One or maybe Sugar Bowl...you telling me that THAT Florida team couldnt beat a Big 10 team or at large?
Yeah, Michigan did it. A season ago. We matured into national champions.
And Rainey was playing all season with a torn groin, and he still was above average when he was in the game. He came in 2007 at 160, we bulked him up to 170 (even though he is listed at 180 in some programs), and he is a RS Soph. Harvin was only 180 when he got on campus as a freshman, and he left at 205. Rainey is still growing. Wait til you see him healthy (he is not running track this spring) and see if he is effective.
If not, Demps, Tebow, Cooper, Nelson, Moore, Thompson, and of course HERNANDEZ can pick up the slack.
And thats just the returning players with playing time. There is a bunch on the shelf that Meyer hasnt even broken out yet (Hammonds, Lawerence, Hines)
Plus Debose.
FLAME OFF.

Nice post.
I think UF will be nearly unbeatable next year. Its going to take a great team playing over their heads to beat them.
With that being said i will say if LSU gets 2 chances at them, i would not bet against a split.

I think Florida will undisputedly (spell check please...ah frick it lol) be beastly next season. Then again UGA was supposed to be even better this past season than they were the season prior (with all the hype surrounding them), obviously different teams, different season, different situation but just something to think about. Though I will say this, (not being a homer) I think we are the only school that might have a shot at beating the gaytors in their regular season schedule.

Better question would be "Is there any team that can challenge Florida for the SEC title this year?"
