That's actually awesome. I can't believe they actually wrote that on paper.

He is one coach away from being shitty again anyway, how dumb....

He had a clause take out. His old contract contained a clause that Auburn would not have to pay him. Big difference.
He can be fired, but has a 10 million buyout. Sabans buyout was 32 million

They can't withhold his salary if AU is under NCAA/SEC investigation. I think it was a great move. He was very well represented in the negotiations.

Chizik's new deal, released to The Associated Press on Tuesday, merely says the coach agrees to comply with Southeastern Conference and NCAA rules and disciplinary procedures and cites Article 4 of the SEC's constitution outlining the commissioner's authority and Bylaw 19:8, which deals with enforcement.
The bylaw is under revision, and SEC spokesman Charles Bloom said it is not ready for distribution. Chizik's attorney, Russ Campbell of Birmingham, declined comment and Auburn officials had no immediate comment.
The old one signed in June 2009 included a stipulation allowing Auburn to suspend pay to Chizik if his program is being investigated by the university, the SEC or the NCAA for "alleged major rules violations or significant or repetitive violations."
This is all I saw on it. Not exactly the way you described it, but maybe you were talking about something else.

Very shrewd move by Chiz. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall during the negotiations.
On the other hand, Auburn admin has to be the biggest morons on earth. If being on probation and firing your coach isn't bad enough - they will have to pay him 10 million.
That's serious hustle, Jay Jacobs. Next move? Sending check to exiled Nigerian prince.
