The payoff committee shouldn’t have picked Bama or Clemson.

Those two were fine, but they shouldn't have picked Notre Dame. Final 2 games should've been Bama vs Ohio State and Clemson vs Oklahoma IMO. Good chance we'd have had a different matchup in the final.

Remember to name it Saban because he's the daddy.

Congrats!

As long as it doesn't turn out like that Dr. Pepper commercial and the baby comes out with a Bama hat on.

wrong, because it has been obvious since October Bama is 1 and Clemson is 2, and if you put in 16, 8, or 4 it would end up as Bama and Clemson in the finals, the only way to change that was to not seed Bama and Clemson, one and two.

yes they should have, they were undefeated and had one of the better wins of the entire season. Them getting killed doesn't mean their resume didn't earn their way in.

The problem is that bama has essentially ruined the game because saban is simply so ahead of everyone else it's almost unfathomable. We already know they are going to make the playoffs every year and will almost surely be in the title game every year. And that's nobody's fault; not the playoff committee, not bama's fault, not anyone's..they're jsut that good. But it does make the sport boring.

LOL. Ohio state got completely arse blasted by a mediocre purdue.

it was obvious since October

People always disagree about what is obvious. I thought it was pretty obvious that Ohio State was better than Notre Dame and could've given any of the other three a good game.

that's entirely irrelevant, and why the CFB regular season is the best one in all of sports. ND earned the right to be in, OSU didn't by way of their almost unbelievable loss to an average team. Just like I firmly believe in 2017 even with 2 losses if OSU had just lost to Iowa by 3 instead of like 30 they would have passed bama. You can't just completely and totally drop the ball in the regular season and expect it not to mean something.

It depends on what the criteria are. I guess the playoff committee thought it was important, but obviously I disagree. I think Ohio State was one of the four best teams and that would be my criteria. Notre Dame wasn't really close to top 4 IMO.

How is this still something people don't get? It's the best resume/most deserving. It's always been that.

If it was simply "best teams", then they might as well have announced after the bama/LSU game that bama was going to be one of the playoff participants. I mean, why shoudln't they? At that point it was obvious that bama was going to end up one of the 4 "best teams".

UGA has been the only team in the last 2 seasons to even make bama wake up and get out of bed and put forth some effort, after the SECCG would anyone debate that in early December we were one of the 4 "best teams"? I doubt it. But we deservedly didn't get in, why? Because we had 2 losses and didn't win our conference.

It's not complicated..you get in or out based on your 12/13 game resume. Get blown out by 4 touchdowns to purdue? Sorry, you're getting passed up for the undefeated team that has as good of a signature win as you do. Simple.

12 or 13 game resume. Big difference between being the best in your conference and not facing that final hurdle. I don't think ND would've have won any of the SEC, ACC, Big 12 or Big 10 conferences. Bottom line is that ND was not a top 4 team after the regular season was done IMO. You're welcome to disagree.

Picking Notre Dame ruined college football

Gerogia fans are a trip. Just fricking weird

God I hope Notre Dame kicks their arse next year now. I can’t believe you made me root for them

Notre Dame was a better football team then Georgia this year. Deal with it

Interesting response. Was that intended for me? I never said Georgia was a top 4 team or should've been in the playoffs, because I don't think we should've. I do think Ohio State was better than Notre Dame, also probably Georgia, LSU, Texas, Florida, maybe Auburn, maybe Washington too. None of those latter teams after Ohio State should be in the playoffs, including Notre Dame. Deal with it.

What a bunch of horseshite

None of those teams were definitively better than Notre Dame. Could they have beat Notre Dame in a game. Yes. Could they have lost. Yes

I’m gonna tell you right now. All those teams could have played Notre Dame schedule and none of them would have went undefeated. Ohio state, auburn, Georgia, freaking Washington

Add that in with the classless tweets from the Georgia players and the arse kicking they got by Texas. Enough

I can tell that you're very upset about the Georgia player classless tweets. I wish there was something I could say that would patch things up and let you root for the Dawgs against Notre Dame next year (seriously, why do ranters always interject silly things like that, as if anybody cares who you root for?), but no matter how you look at it, ND is still not one of the top 4 teams from 2018. Enough.
