100.
To answer the OP, no
Saban has had the same philosophy since day 1 on the job...it's won him 2 crystals. If it ain't broke don't fix it
Coddling coaches are for Uga. We don't need saban spewing rainbows and lollipops, tell a team how great they are and all they've accomplished and they lose the drive to improve

Are you a dumbass or just trolling?

It's gotten out of hand when the complaint becomes 'well, we haven't won two in a row.'

You best be glad Sabans name isn't Chizwheel. Then you would have a real reason to cry in your beer. If you don't like the way your coach coaches, go stick your finger into a light sockett.

Alabama is a block of granite. Saban is trying to sculpt that into a masterpiece and Monty wants to take away his chisel and give him an ice cream cone

True. He won't be welcome back here when we celebrate the 2001 and 2003 team's anniversaries.

No, it wasnt. Those were the correct play calls to score points. The reason they didnt score had nothing to do with Saban and everything to do with terrible luck.

Wow. Just logged on and saw this. If you truly believe that the Bama players pay more attention to ESPN than they
Pay the fricking coach who has taken them to 2 NCs then you are a fricking nut. I've been a Bama fan since PBB was the coach and this is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard or read from a supposed Bama fan.

Oh and Saban was too conservative with a lead all 5 years here at LSU. It almost lost us a few games and did lose us a few others. 2002 Arkansas is the one that always jumps out.
Posted on 9/5/12 at 10:00 pm to TwoBarBammer
We weren't conservative in the first half. The second half was where Cam went to town and Saban being conservative got us beat. Once again, it is what it is.
Just because I find one fault with Lord Saban doesn't mean you have to be butthurt, pal. No one is above criticism.

Saban is only a negative norman Monday-Friday.
Every clip I've ever heard of locker room speeches is of the tone---we're bad to the bone and we're about to go and beat the shite out of these guys on every snap because we work harder than they do.
Some examples, and I'll paraphrase..."dominate your opponent an make his arse quit, that's our m.o. As a team"
"you gotta earn it guys, they wanna take what you got"
"every week you have to prepare differently, and that oughta piss you off. "
Nick saban is the best motivator in the game. He gets his guys focused on one goal, go whip his arse every play.
I don't know if y'all have noticed, but most teams pregame-in the tunnel are jumping around and hollering in unison, this is a way to hype yourself up...you don't see much of that from Alabama, they walk out of the lockerroom in a nonchalant fashion, but you can see the focus and intensity that they bear. They don't need to hype themselves up, they know they are prepared and their coach just gave them all the motivation they need. Nick saban could fire up a nun enough to choke an infant, he's the best at what he does because he's the best at many of the aspects it takes to be the best, motivation included

There are play calls here and there that I question in hindsight, as I'm sure that Saban does. But expecting anything better than what he's accomplished at Alabama so far is asinine.
