Dennis Franchione left Baba for Texas A&M
Bill Curry had a toxic environment at Bama and left for Kentucky.
Urban Meyer had "health issues" at Florida.
Brian Kelly left Notre Dame for LSU.
Mario Cristobal left Oregon for Miami.
Texas and USC W have been irrelevant for over two decades.
Three coaches have won national titles at LSU. It must be meh!

Ranking of jobs and the past are largely irrelevant now. It’s now a matter of whether you can or cannot compete at the NIL level. If you can, it’s a “good” job. If you can’t, it isn’t. LSU has a lot of NIL money just like about 20-25 other schools therefore they will compete but the notion of built in recruiting advantages isn’t as relevant as it used to be and neither is tradition.

You've got 2 million more people to choose from. Probably you.

Yes, a good argument could be made that LSU is a top 5 job in the SEC.

That's a fair assessment. I mean Louisiana has great talent and has always managed to keep the local talent at home, which is one reason LSU has always been a very strong program. But, that is also why I always found the "Per capita" argument to be strange.
It will be interesting to see how much difference NIL makes, now. Will the Louisiana kids choose LSU over cash going forward? Will strong talent advantages continue to give Georgia and advantage if kids continue to go elsewhere due to NIL? I have no idea. Only time will tell. The next 10 years or so should give us an idea.

Yeah that's the fear I have as well. If it's strictly commercial now, then college football has already died and now we're just going to watch it decay.

The Bama admins and fans created the toxic environment. All Curry did was win.
Bill Curry also recruited the team that Gene Stallings won a NC with in 1992.

Lsu Is definitely a top 5 job. They have some of the most popular athletes in the world. They were all famous at LSU. The LSU brand is much bigger than these schools right now. They make celebrities out of their athletes. Burrow, Dunne, Skenes, OBJ, Jefferson, Shaq etc.

It's already lost a bit of it's interest for me. I still enjoy watching, but I stopped watching the NFL because of the mercenary aspects of the game, and now with players in college switching teams annually the college game is struggling to build fan loyalty. If they don't get a handle on it soon, I think you will see fans falling away.
